Featuring a Norman castle of the 10th century, Il Castello is located in the Madonie Regional Park. It offers a restaurant with fireplace, and a peaceful internal courtyard. Wi-Fi is free throughout. The location of the Castello is ideal as it is easy to park for free. Getting there is slightly complicated as there is a hairpin turn that is easy to miss. But apart from that, the place is great! Francesca is a most welcoming and organized host. She looked after us and made excellent suggestions regarding things to do and eat locally. There are only 2 places to eat in town and one is a pub pizzeria. The other is the Castello which has a varied menu with excellent food (caveat: portions are huge!), making it easy to dine after a long day hiking around. The setting is romantic and beautiful.
Located in Petralia Sottana, 12 mi from Piano Battaglia, Casa vacanze Petralia features accommodations with a tennis court, free WiFi, a shared kitchen, and luggage storage space. Erico is the most wonderful host. Lots of thoughtful extras like very pretty children's bed linen on the beds. Lots of treats for breakfast, wonderful coffee. The place is very spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. It is also easy to clean when you are there as everything you need to keep it clean is there. We needed a couple of extra items for the kitchen and Erico got them to us very quickly. He also kindly messaged us during our stay to ask us if we had everything we needed and if we are okay and if we needed help with anything. This was very reassuring as I was alone with my children during the stay so knew if there had been any problem Erico would know what to do. Petralia Sottana is a perfect spot for families. The local people are incredibly welcoming and kind. My nearly 3-year-old delighted in pretending to be an airplane and running past the old gentlemen sitting on the street benches in the mornings. Their faces would light up in delight and my little boy's game was to run past them, tip them on their knees with his "wings" then turn back to see them all laughing! When we would go to buy our groceries, many shopkeepers would give a little treat here and there to the children. This is a great place for families. It is very picturesque, there is still the feeling that the stability of tradition and family-life is important while at the same time modern facilities make life easy. The apartment is in the centre. Nearby, about 4 km away is a great adventure park for children and adults. There are many barbeque grill spaces as well as a cafe. My children had a great day there. It is set in a forest glade, plenty of shelter from the summer sun. Lots of activities for families there. Also, check out this wonderful little pastry and bakery shop nestled in Via Indipendenza, 6, 90027 Petralia Sottana PA, Italy. Melt-in-the-mouth delicacies served with a warm welcome, a family run gem!

Not only the house Agliata 138 was a great place, comfortable, placed in real center of Petralia close to all amenities, but we also need to thank the owner, mr IVAN, for his precious way of treating us and giving the best tips for a special staying. Next trip at least 3 days. 😊Congrutalations, keep on taking care of guests like you did with us IVAN. TKS TKS TKS....See you very soon
Balcón de Petralia is set in Petralia Soprana. The accommodations is 22 mi from Caltanissetta. The holiday home consists of 2 separate bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a living room. It is a perfect Sicilian house with wonderful view of the town, Etna and surroundings. We loved it very much. It is large, you have everything what you need and the owner is helpful. Petralia Soprana is a nice smaller town
Small historical Sicilian town. We were lucky to arrive in a celebration day so we’ve enjoyed some of the traditions of the place (religious procession). Nice little city center with beautiful main church interior
Nothing to do. Churches all shut. Not many places open. Boring. Hiking is not at all accessible. Very hard to find the entrance to the trails. You need a car to get to them. Poor signposting. Trails very poorly marked. Many (very large) dogs roaming around on the trail we went on - it was terrifying. Plus livestock also loose on the trail, including mother cows with calves and bulls. Really disappointing.
