The Marulivo is a unique design hotel. Once a monastery, it dates back to the 14th century. You'll never forget the view across the Palinuro coast from the panoramic terrace. The owners, Lea and Maurizio, are simply wonderful, helpful, and solicitous of guests' comfort and needs. The terrace where breakfast is served and one can have cocktails in the evening, offers a stupendous view of the sea. Two very fine restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel. One can easily reach the sea by a shuttle. Extremely highly recommended.
La Casa sul Blu Albergo Diffuso offers rooms and apartments in various locations in the Medieval village of Pisciotta, part of the UNESCO-protected Vallo di Diano and Cilento National Park. The house is fantastic. It's has a small museum and a wonderful garden. The room I was in (al notte del museo) was very private with a garden view. It's situated in the center with easy access to the historic center as well as the sea. The decor is impeccable and extremely comfortable. The breakfast is abbondant and varied for every taste. The hosts are kind and very helpful. They gave great advice about the city and sea. This was one of the best booking.com places I have ever booked.

Nice to know there are still such remote places in Western Europe! Stunning scenery, nice food and good beaches. The town and the area in general would need some more activities for tourists and the historic center should be renewed a bit...although part of its charm is also not being touristy at all and being a bit run down...
The village is pretty with a relaxed atmosphere and an ideal location for those seeking to avoid crowds of other tourists. Outside of July and August, the local bus and train services are very limited so a car is required to get the most out of the local area but in peak season, buses to neighbouring villages are plentiful. We would particularly recommend Il Tre Guffi and Osteria del Borgo for food in the Borgo itself while in the Marina area, Angiolino's is a good if slightly more expensive restaurant. Food shopping options in the village are limited to a couple of small grocers and a good fruit and vegetable shop.
