Small but lively little town, with shops, markets, bars and restaurants. Nice couple of small beaches and small harbour with plenty of nautical activities available. Porto San Paolo is very well located from Olbia, which is a bigger town with plenty of activities, shops, etc as well as the airport. Porto San Paulo is one of the precious places we ever visited. If you are looking for peaceful place to take rest , body and soul , you found it exactly between the most popular places which are very crowded and fancy .It’s very close to the most beautiful wild beaches. The village is split between the main road area and the port. The port has ferries to Tavolara which is highly recommended. Shops and restaurants with one main supermarket on the road towards the port. Beaches are small and pebble/sand mix. Better beaches elsewhere. Expensive restaurants. We liked the takeaway pizza best. The spacious two-storey apartment had everything we needed for self-catering, and we loved relaxing on the private balcony with beautiful hillside views and evening sun. Shops and restaurants are a short walk away, and beaches can be reached via a scenic coastal path — Porto Istana was a highlight. They even packed a nice and big portion breakfast for us when mentioned we checking out very early for the ferry journey.
