Absolutely everything. The view, the breakfast, the rooms, the free shuttle to town, but especially the service! The place is ran by Giovanni and his family, and they make you feel at home from the minute you arrive at Il Barilotto. If I return to Positano (and I hope I do!), I wouldn’t think about staying anywhere else. 10 out of 10!

Having stayed at hundreds of hotels worldwide, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional service from staff at every level. Our room offers breathtaking views over all of Positano - truly the best location to stay here. As an investor in premium hospitality, I can recognize outstanding operations when I see them. The hotel restaurant, pool, and bar all exceed expectations. The attention to detail and service quality feels like a solid 5-star experience, not 4-star. Hotel Poseidon sets the standard for Positano hospitality. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel was perfectly situated just about 50 meters from...

This hotel was perfectly situated just about 50 meters from the ferry drop-off point. The onsite restaurant was excellent, and there were several excellent choices for dinner within steps of the hotel. Other than "squeaky" floors (just slip your shoes off), we had not a single negative issue with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. From Luca in the restaurant to Cito in the bar, everyone was very polite and professional. The views were extraordinary. We were there at Halloween, and the kids in costumes were delightful. My wife's birthday the next day, they had a cake made for her at breakfast. Molto bene!

Positano is magical.

Positano is magical. Lots of great dining and shopping options. One of my favorite restaurants was Lo Guarracino. I've dined there for dinner all 3 times that I have visited Positano. I highly recommend sitting in the Garden Room, great views and location!

Love Positano, our second time visiting.

Love Positano, our second time visiting. However, very crowded in September and can be overwhelming. Great place for a few days, especially when planning to explore nearby towns, including Capri. One of our favorite restaurants that we returned to on this trip, which is still incredible is Donna Rosa, which is just up the hill from Positano.

Town is most beautiful seen from the sea or a high terrace.

Town is most beautiful seen from the sea or a high terrace. Friendly people. Gets overrun by tourists, even October. Lots of hills and steps, and taxi’s are a flat rate of 35 euros, adds up fast. Better to walk and avoid traffic jams. La Pergola on the beach for pizza, also for spaghetti and clams. Ohima for great vibes and good food. Il Pallazo for special evening. Ferries to visit Amalfi and Ravello. See Capri and ride the chairlift. Relax and have fun.

A wonderful stretch of coastline despite the local drivers!

A wonderful stretch of coastline despite the local drivers! Other main hazard the lack of parking places - particularly appreciative of the private parking space at our house. Despite that, accessible to Pompeii, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri etc. all of which we visited in our four night stay. Particularly good meals at Saraceno d'oro and La Taverna del Leone.

Positano is a total zoo!!!

Positano is a total zoo!!! The alleys are jam-packed with people and lined with shops selling tourist junk. The roads are extremely curvy and hazardous to walk on (shoulders are about 6" wide). Every time I tried to take a bus there were about 4 busloads of people waiting and it was a battle to get on.

The breakfast was wonderful and there were plenty of options to eat. There is a nice view of the ocean. The staff and owners of the property were very friendly and were very nice to my husband while we were away at our hike. The room had all the basic needs. There is only 1 road going in an out of Positano and in areas only goes one way. If you have walking issues you are best to stay at one of the hotels on the main road. My husband found it very difficult because of all the step and this hotel is not on the major road.

Best location in Positano, close to the bus stop so you can easily use the busses to go everywhere on the Amalfi coast. Easy to walk in to the town and the two beaches. At night you can take a bus to get back up right outside the hotel. The breakfast was good and big. Personal are outstanding and really helpful. The balcony has a stunning view and you get your breakfast delivered to your room. Would recommend everyone to stay at Villa Palumbo.

- great location (not in the upper hills of Positano, easier to reach) - amazing view, we are in love - big rooms - comfortable - very clean - helpful, friendly and kind staff - best breakfast in italy (you can choose what you want one day earlier from the sheet they give to you) many options: both savory and sweet, very enough to make you feel full and satisfied with good quality - central location but very silent to sleep
