No doubt, Rome is a beautiful city with a rich history and incredible architecture. It truly feels like stepping back in time while exploring its landmarks. However, I noticed that the municipality could work more on maintaining the cleanliness of common areas such as roads and walkways. This observation is based on the area where I stayed during my trip, and since I live in Prague, I am sharing this feedback as a comparison between what I’ve seen there and in Rome. Regarding public transportation, the metro system runs on time and is quite reliable. However, buses often take longer and sometimes do not start on time from their starting points, which I believe could be improved. Of course, this is my personal experience, and there may be other factors influencing this, such as the high number of tourists and other conditions, but better planning could help. On a positive note, the organization and planning at major attractions like the Colosseum and Vatican City are excellent, even with the large number of visitors. Overall, Rome remains a must-visit destination, but there is room for improvement in certain areas to make the experience even better.

I need to visit again as I missed quite a lot I wanted to visit. Quite a lot of what I wanted to see took me away from any Metro stations, so did a lot of walking between each sight. I first visited on a Saturday and it was very busy and hard to walk anywhere fast to see more in my allotted time. I originate from a City that was founded by the Romans, so came to see where it all started and glad I did.

Rome is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Rome is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's no surprise that it's called the eternal city. Walking through various parts of the city, you will see historic buildings and artefacts constantly interwoven with modern architecture, infrastructure and humble but exceptional local food. It is rather easy to get around with public transport these days - especially via Tap & Go. However, do be mindful of crowded areas and buses/trains. I got pickpocketed and had my phone stolen on the last day. It is a real and ongoing risk. Regarding food we highly recommend having the roman "pizza al taglio", fried chicory leaves, artichokes and for meat-eaters: a porchetta sandwich. For vegans: we had the best food at "Rifugio Romano". For sightseeing and learning about Rome's history we recommend the free walking tours by GuruWalks and as a morbid but special tip we recommend visiting the Capuchin Crypt where you find the most intruiging artworks made out of human bones. But mostly: don't skip the big stuff like the Colosseum or the Vatican. It is truly worth the money.

Rome is a fabulous very ancient city.

Rome is a fabulous very ancient city. It is very walkable in the very center. Choose what you want to visit, it was easy to move around by bus and I would definitely go back. There are an awful lot of tourist stores selling exactly the same things however between those shops are original local stores making hand made jewellery, bags etc. Check out review for where to eat in order to get amazing food and avoid the mediocore fare.

We only had 2 days.

We only had 2 days. One day spent on a golf-cart tour (very good) and a trip to the Vatican (very tiring). the next day we took a train to Naples, then a local train to Ercolano Scavi, where we visited the sights at the Herculaneum excavation - this was absolutely fantastic.

Rome – Where Elegance Meets Eternity

Rome – Where Elegance Meets Eternity Rome is one of the most beautiful and refined cities in the world. Even two unforgettable days are nowhere near enough to explore its endless wonders. Whether you dine at the 3-Michelin-star restaurant La Pergola with its breathtaking panorama, enjoy people-watching in one of the many charming street cafés, or sip champagne in the dreamy garden of Hotel de Russie — Rome captivates you at every turn. Surrounded by incomparable ancient architecture, grand avenues, historic masterpieces and lush old trees, you encounter people full of elegance, who welcome you with genuine warmth and impeccable manners. All of this makes Rome my number one city in Europe — a place you will always want to return to.

I spent my birthday weekend here (my first time in Italy) and everything was lovely! From the moment I arrived the nice lady at reception made sure to answer my questions, and even gave me recommendations on where to go in Rome (with a map). The suite itself was gorgeous and the location is beautiful. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants close to the hotel. I plan to visit Rome again next year and I will definitely consider booking here again. :)

Lovely room and toilet, working A/C which seems like a rare find in Italy as i have stayed 3 hotels during my trip and only this one has a working A/C. The lady/owner was very nice and her son was very helpful when we were stuck outside at the door during the late night. The beds as well gave me one of the best sleeps throughout my stay in Italy. It has a perfect location where it's near the Metro station and also a walkable distance to the Colosseum.

It is the best hotel we had reserved in Italy. It’s high value for money. It was not only good location but also reasonable in price. It had great facilities and clean rooms. The staffs were very kind and enthusiastic. But we didn’t have breakfast because we forgot that our hotel bill included breakfast. I hope I can taste breakfast next time I go to Rome.
