Hotel in San Casciano in Val di Pesa
Villa I Barronci Resort & Spa is a charming Tuscan-style residence with private park and heated pool. It offers stunning views of the Chianti countryside, 20 minutes' drive from Florence. This accommodation has been and will be the MOST memorable for my fiancé and I. We stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Tuscany in August 2019. It was my partner's birthday and I had planned a surprise get away and dinner at this accommodation on the night of her birthday. When I came across this hotel on booking.com I was very intrigued by the photograph of the dinner table settings overlooking the picturesque vineyard in the valley and booked it online about 2 weeks prior to arrival. Apart from her birthday celebration, I was also planning to propose to her during our trip. The email correspondence with the staff was prompt - I was attended to on a very helpful and personal level by a lovely member of staff, Consuelo, who was at this stage the only person who was aware about my plans. She was very caring in her emails yet discrete in trying to put together a private dinner in one of their beautiful Gazeboes overlooking the vineyards. On arrival to the hotel, we were very warmly welcomed by the staff and we met Consuelo in person but she did not let on that we had been corresponding prior to the arrival. That afternoon, Consuelo went through the personalised dinner menu and even accommodated some last minute changes - she was also very caring when I divulged that I had been quite nervous. We arrived to our private Gazebo which was thoughtfully laid out and our personalised menu was written out for us. The evening went on and my partner and I had the most amazing dinner service in our private Gazebo - a huge (and extremely affordable) menu with wine flowing. The waiting staff were really really lovely, especially Carlotta who helped us snap lost of pictures from all angles (she has an amazing eye for photography). Just after sunset, I proposed and she said yes! It was the most magical evening. Overall we will definitely be coming back to this hotel and really would like to thank all the staff for their amazing hospitality - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The family was great the stay was terrific and the walk to Cinque Vino ( a very good restaurant) is easy because the town is relatively small.

Offering an outdoor pool with hill views, Il Poggiale is a Renaissance villa in the Chianti area, just 1.2 mi from San Casciano. A wellness area equipped with a sauna is available on site. We had a wonderful time at the Villa. The location is perfect for exploring the hill towns nearby. The hotel recommended a great winery for tasting. We had been to many others previously, but this one was unique with a cheese tasting as well. The dinners at the hotel were wonderful and the staff at dinner, particularly Massimo, was excellent. The hotel grounds are beautiful, serene and relaxing. Gorgeous area. We loved it.

I would imagine that, like me, most people go there to visit the famous Antinori wine estate, one of the most spectacular & lavish wine estates for visitors in Europe, and one of the few that are comparable with what you would find in California, South Africa or South America. There's not a great deal else here that I am aware of - it's basically a few small villages. Good location for visiting other neighbouring parts of Chianti though. And, as noted in my review elsewhere of the Albergo Bargino, its attached fish restaurant, the Trattoria del Pesce, is worth a visit in itself.
This town in the middle of Tuscany is breath taking. In the middle of everywhere yet close to Florence making your return to the airport very convenient. The area is surrounded by wineries, restaurants, pizzerias and gelato shops making the panorama painteresque and unique to the area. Perfect starting point for biking too. Must visit.
Having briefly worked in San Casciano a few years ago I had some knowledge of the town. There are many good restaurants in the town such as Cinque di Vino plus the rustic A Casa Mia in the small village of Montefiridolfi. San Casciano is easy to navigate around and the locals are very helpful. If you are staying in an apartment there are good food shopping facilities. The cities of Florence and Siena are within easy reach and the Tuscan countryside is beautiful.
A lovely place to relax but need a car to use this location as a base to see other parts of Tuscany. Its great to have an onsite restaurant and the breakfast was good value and tasty. Beautiful outlook
The location of the town was perfect for us, as we came to have our own wine tour. We had about a 30-40 minutes drive (tops) to each of our pins on the wine map we planned! There are vineyards all around :)
The area was lovely, with villas and wineries everywhere. Did some of our own cooking, but also ate out. A bus trip to Florence was worth doing. Driving to villages/places worked well. Castellina, Radda and Volpaia our favourites. Driving could be a little difficult on the narrow roads (for two cars to stay on the bitumen)... and buses. We were given a bottle of wine from our winery stay, and saw the beginning of the grape harvest.

The one bedroom apartment we stayed is spacious. Breafast was excellent. We went during the low season, both times there were only the 2 of us there, but they still prepare a very nice breakfast with everything (fresh fruit, juice, cake, omelette, ...) The location is also very good, close to highway (20 mins to Florence) and SR2 to drive around the Tuscan region. Last but not least, there are many cats living there, we counted at least 4 of them. It was nice to walk around the castle and find them hiding somewhere sleeping.

At the end of a rough-ish gravel road, but super beautiful and quiet. A really good selection of restaurants within 10mins either on the main road or at San Casciano (and more further away). Convenient to most locations of Chianti yet only 1.5 hours (you're driving in Italy) to southern Tuscany. A winery "opportunity" everywhere you look, and our host made some nice recommendations.

San Casciano in Val di Pesa
Definitely, very picturesque surroundings and houses. The parking at the property is great to have, just note the steep and off-road-ish road. There is another road leading to the property, it's not steep, but longer and broken as well. We were luckily driving the SUV, so we had no issues accessing the property. The farm produces honey, vines, and olive oils. The pool was great, one part 100cm and the other 140cm.
