Hotel in San Casciano in Val di Pesa
Villa I Barronci Resort & Spa is a charming Tuscan-style residence with private park and heated pool. It offers stunning views of the Chianti countryside, 20 minutes' drive from Florence. This accommodation has been and will be the MOST memorable for my fiancé and I. We stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Tuscany in August 2019. It was my partner's birthday and I had planned a surprise get away and dinner at this accommodation on the night of her birthday. When I came across this hotel on booking.com I was very intrigued by the photograph of the dinner table settings overlooking the picturesque vineyard in the valley and booked it online about 2 weeks prior to arrival. Apart from her birthday celebration, I was also planning to propose to her during our trip. The email correspondence with the staff was prompt - I was attended to on a very helpful and personal level by a lovely member of staff, Consuelo, who was at this stage the only person who was aware about my plans. She was very caring in her emails yet discrete in trying to put together a private dinner in one of their beautiful Gazeboes overlooking the vineyards. On arrival to the hotel, we were very warmly welcomed by the staff and we met Consuelo in person but she did not let on that we had been corresponding prior to the arrival. That afternoon, Consuelo went through the personalised dinner menu and even accommodated some last minute changes - she was also very caring when I divulged that I had been quite nervous. We arrived to our private Gazebo which was thoughtfully laid out and our personalised menu was written out for us. The evening went on and my partner and I had the most amazing dinner service in our private Gazebo - a huge (and extremely affordable) menu with wine flowing. The waiting staff were really really lovely, especially Carlotta who helped us snap lost of pictures from all angles (she has an amazing eye for photography). Just after sunset, I proposed and she said yes! It was the most magical evening. Overall we will definitely be coming back to this hotel and really would like to thank all the staff for their amazing hospitality - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Surrounded by peaceful vineyards and olive groves, Relais Poggio Borgoni offers an outdoor pool and a traditional restaurant, 16 mi south of historic Florence. The staff was wonderful, offering plenty of great tips on what to do/see and where to eat, letting us borrow things we were missing (umbrella) and serving us interesting information on each of the great wines of their vineyard. The breakfast offered was a true treat with a great variety of food and the accomodation in itself was charming, clean and comfortable. I can warmly recommend Relais Poggio Borgoni.

Villa Il Fedino, Hotel Di Sor Paolo, and Hotel Calzaiolo got great room view-related reviews from travelers in San Casciano in Val di Pesa.
I would imagine that, like me, most people go there to visit the famous Antinori wine estate, one of the most spectacular & lavish wine estates for visitors in Europe, and one of the few that are comparable with what you would find in California, South Africa or South America. There's not a great deal else here that I am aware of - it's basically a few small villages. Good location for visiting other neighbouring parts of Chianti though. And, as noted in my review elsewhere of the Albergo Bargino, its attached fish restaurant, the Trattoria del Pesce, is worth a visit in itself.
This town in the middle of Tuscany is breath taking. In the middle of everywhere yet close to Florence making your return to the airport very convenient. The area is surrounded by wineries, restaurants, pizzerias and gelato shops making the panorama painteresque and unique to the area. Perfect starting point for biking too. Must visit.
Having briefly worked in San Casciano a few years ago I had some knowledge of the town. There are many good restaurants in the town such as Cinque di Vino plus the rustic A Casa Mia in the small village of Montefiridolfi. San Casciano is easy to navigate around and the locals are very helpful. If you are staying in an apartment there are good food shopping facilities. The cities of Florence and Siena are within easy reach and the Tuscan countryside is beautiful.
A lovely place to relax but need a car to use this location as a base to see other parts of Tuscany. Its great to have an onsite restaurant and the breakfast was good value and tasty. Beautiful outlook
The location of the town was perfect for us, as we came to have our own wine tour. We had about a 30-40 minutes drive (tops) to each of our pins on the wine map we planned! There are vineyards all around :)
The area was lovely, with villas and wineries everywhere. Did some of our own cooking, but also ate out. A bus trip to Florence was worth doing. Driving to villages/places worked well. Castellina, Radda and Volpaia our favourites. Driving could be a little difficult on the narrow roads (for two cars to stay on the bitumen)... and buses. We were given a bottle of wine from our winery stay, and saw the beginning of the grape harvest.

San Casciano in Val di Pesa
At the end of a rough-ish gravel road, but super beautiful and quiet. A really good selection of restaurants within 10mins either on the main road or at San Casciano (and more further away). Convenient to most locations of Chianti yet only 1.5 hours (you're driving in Italy) to southern Tuscany. A winery "opportunity" everywhere you look, and our host made some nice recommendations.
The absolutely stunning view from this hotel is superb! When you come in summer and you take breakfast on the terrace you have a very nice view to enjoy your croissant and coffee. The staff is very nice and friendly and do there best to let you feel welcome. The breakfast for italian norms is quite good. Overall a good stay.
San Casciano in Val di Pesa

Great location. Easy to find with a GPS. Fabulous views. Comfortable room. Great to have a washing machine and drying racks. Great pool area. Easy drive and very close to Florence and Sienna. Would definitely recommend to other travellers.
The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and tidied each day, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Given the cost per night Hotel Di Sor Paolo is a bargain, but if you want peace and luxury you'll need to pay extra in the area.

San Casciano in Val di Pesa
I Greppi di Silli is just wonderful! We loved being there. It’s in the middle of Chianti, with plenty of things to explore and only 30mins from Florence. They have a really nice pool surrounded by olive yards, the room itself really had everything we needed and was very clean; the agriturismo lies on a hill so prepare yourself for a steep drive up. However, it’s incredible views make it all up! But the unique und very best things was the owner family. They have been so warm, welcoming and very helpful at any time of day. You can certainly feel their passions for the wine and olive yards while staying at I Greppi du Silli. If the Aperitivo is offered during your stay, make sure to attend since it was an incredible and truly Italian experience with very tasty family food and even better wine from their own winery. We will return for sure!
