    Hotel Bel Soggiorno

San Gimignano City Centre, San Gimignano

Located in the centre of San Gimignano, Hotel Bel Soggiorno offers large rooms and an on-site restaurant serving typical Tuscan dishes. The Chianti wine area is just 20 km away. Rooms were very comfortable. Beds were soft and springy, the blankets were thermo regulated. I had a twin room with a private terrace onthe third floor , and could leave the doors open when sleeping to enjoy the cool night air and stars and moon above the old tiled roofs.

  • Leon Bianco

    Leon Bianco

San Gimignano City Centre, San Gimignano

Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace. The location can't be beat, right in the middle of the town. Rooms overlooked the cistern in the main city square, yet were quiet spacious for an inner-city location and with dual-pane windows were very quiet. We were able to drive up to the hotel to load/unload luggage, though one has to drive through a few tight spots to get there.

  • Hotel Vecchio Asilo

    Hotel Vecchio Asilo

    San Gimignano

Set in a historic watchtower building in the town of Ulignano and a 10-minute drive from the centre of San Gimignano, Hotel Vecchio Asilo offers rooms with a garden view and a private bathroom. 位置很好,坐落在田野中,适合自驾前行。离圣吉米尼亚诺小镇有6公里的距离,若是非自驾可能会较为麻烦~主人非常热情,早餐也很丰盛,住的很舒服,满意~ The location is good, surrounding by fields, which is good for self-driving, but is a little bit far from the town, which might be inconvenient for those who don't drive here. The host is very nice and friendly, the breakfast is quite good.

    Hotel Pescille

    San Gimignano

Hotel Pescille is set in an old farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside, 5 minutes' drive from San Gimignano. It offers a large garden with swimming pool, and free parking. The location was ideal and the Hotel building itself captured the sense of rural Tuscany. The rooms are very spacious, beautifully furnished with rustic furniture. The swimming pool and grounds are fabulous and well maintained. You are in amongst the rolling hills with grapevines and olive trees. You look across at the amazing spectacular views of San Gimignano. Staff were always very polite and generous with their time in helping guests with booking tours etc and giving options in the local area. Food (breakfast) was great too.

A Tempting Tuscan Sun

San Gimignano, with the Italian sun glistening intently on its 14 remaining towers, cuts a dramatic figure from its position high on a Tuscan hill overlooking vineyards. However, it is when you get up-close-and-personal with this medieval-walled city and crane your neck to the blue sky that you truly appreciate its mesmerising beauty.

If you take away the swarming summer tourists circling the piazzas of San Gimignano, then this city offers you a wonderful trip back in time. The main square, Piazza della Cisterna, is surrounded by Romanesque buildings and Piazza del Duomo features Torre Grossa, the city’s tallest tower.

San Gimignano, originally an Entruscan village, was part of the ancient pilgrim route Via Francigena joining France to Rome. Its name was derived from the Bishop of Modena and is well known today as the Town of Fine Towers.

The 12th-century Collegiate Church of San Gimignano is a worth a visit with its wonderful collection of frescoes, and it also includes the Religious Art Museum.

Whether it is sitting on a restaurant terrace sipping some local Vernaccia wine or attending the lively Thursday Market, has a range of San Gimignano hotels, guest houses and apartments for your stay. And just out of the city are options such as farm stays and country houses in the Tuscan countryside.
