Leon Bianco 3 stars

Hotel in San Gimignano City Centre, San Gimignano

Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace. We had an amazing stay at this beautiful, stylish hotel full of character and history! Our room (for 3 people) was very spacious - we had also a sitting area (with two armchairs) with an amazing view on the hills of San Gimignano - besides another gorgeous view on the Piazza della Cisterna. Room and bathroom were very clean and air conditioning was working well. Stuff was kind and friendly. We enjoyed very much the good breakfast sitting on the internal patio / terrace located on the first floor. We would like to go back!

Hotel Villa Belvedere 3 stars

Hotel in San Gimignano

This centrally located hotel blends a modern, completely-refurbished interior with the unaltered charm of a 19th century villa surrounded by picturesque gardens. The property is easy to find and has convenient free parking. The economy room is on the small side, but the bathroom is roomy and fully equipped. The tv gets several English language stations, if that is important to you. The breakfast is good and substantial. The walk into town is uphill, but easy to navigate and only a fifteen minute walk.

FAQs about hotels in San Gimignano

A Tempting Tuscan Sun

San Gimignano, with the Italian sun glistening intently on its 14 remaining towers, cuts a dramatic figure from its position high on a Tuscan hill overlooking vineyards. However, it is when you get up-close-and-personal with this medieval-walled city and crane your neck to the blue sky that you truly appreciate its mesmerising beauty.

If you take away the swarming summer tourists circling the piazzas of San Gimignano, then this city offers you a wonderful trip back in time. The main square, Piazza della Cisterna, is surrounded by Romanesque buildings and Piazza del Duomo features Torre Grossa, the city’s tallest tower.

San Gimignano, originally an Entruscan village, was part of the ancient pilgrim route Via Francigena joining France to Rome. Its name was derived from the Bishop of Modena and is well known today as the Town of Fine Towers.

The 12th-century Collegiate Church of San Gimignano is a worth a visit with its wonderful collection of frescoes, and it also includes the Religious Art Museum.

Whether it is sitting on a restaurant terrace sipping some local Vernaccia wine or attending the lively Thursday Market, Booking.com has a range of San Gimignano hotels, guest houses and apartments for your stay. And just out of the city are options such as farm stays and country houses in the Tuscan countryside.
