San Gimignano is a wonderful place and Hotel Da Graziano has completed the experience! My regret is haven’t stayed here more days! The Hotel is perfect! The people on the front desk were so kind and lovely. The breakfast was so good. The room makes you feel like a small village in Tuscany because they are on the other side of the street. A place so quiet and silent. The view is spectacular, and you can go walk to the old city. Our car had a good place to stay too. But, the highest point of these is the Ristorante da Graziano, in the Hotel: the food is amazing, the service is attentive and the garden where is the restaurant reminds you of a film scenario! Don't forget to try it, you will have a fantastic gastronomic experience associated with fantastic accommodation!
Relais Santa Chiara is set just 400 metres from the medieval walls of San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers elegant rooms, a garden, and an outdoor pool.

Originally a Franciscan convent built in 1587, Hotel La Collegiata is located in the Colli Seneri area, within east reach of mediaeval towns such as San Gimignano and Volterra.
Magic ex-convent converted into hotel; lovely estate.
This historic farmhouse is 1.5 km from the centre of San Gimignano. It features a large garden with swimming pool and panoramic views of the city walls. Parking is free.

Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, Hotel Le Colline is set amidst the Tuscan countryside, 1 km from San Gimignano’s historic centre. It offers rustic-style rooms with free Wi-Fi.
The pool and the location was good but needed a car.
Set along the old Via Francigena road, Villa Ducci is situated in a panoramic position with magnificent views over the mediaeval town San Gimignano, less than 2 km from its city centre.
Beautiful location and the rooms were of good quality.
San Gimignano, with the Italian sun glistening intently on its 14 remaining towers, cuts a dramatic figure from its position high on a Tuscan hill overlooking vineyards. However, it is when you get up-close-and-personal with this medieval-walled city and crane your neck to the blue sky that you truly appreciate its mesmerising beauty.
If you take away the swarming summer tourists circling the piazzas of San Gimignano, then this city offers you a wonderful trip back in time. The main square, Piazza della Cisterna, is surrounded by Romanesque buildings and Piazza del Duomo features Torre Grossa, the city’s tallest tower.
San Gimignano, originally an Entruscan village, was part of the ancient pilgrim route Via Francigena joining France to Rome. Its name was derived from the Bishop of Modena and is well known today as the Town of Fine Towers.
The 12th-century Collegiate Church of San Gimignano is a worth a visit with its wonderful collection of frescoes, and it also includes the Religious Art Museum.
Whether it is sitting on a restaurant terrace sipping some local Vernaccia wine or attending the lively Thursday Market, Booking.com has a range of San Gimignano hotels, guest houses and apartments for your stay. And just out of the city are options such as farm stays and country houses in the Tuscan countryside.

Among many exceptional hilltop sites across Tuscany, San Gimignano is something to behold. The layers of architecture across the town are intriguing, and the views across the countryside from side alleys are always the subject of ultimate holiday pics for those who glimpse the marvels this area holds. Through the day San Gimignano can be very busy with bus loads of tourists, and those tourists staying locally, but you can always find space to just relax and watch as the world visits this lovely town. To be honest, the standard of cuisine and food in general across the town is high, fairly priced, and delicious. The surrounding area holds many additional treats for those who can travel further afield. A magical place. Take some pics of the town above head height, and apply some monochrome filters, stunning. A character filled and lovely site for a day visit, but so much more to offer if you can stay for a few days, or more, and an amazing base for the wonder of Tuscany.

The scenery was beautiful in this area.
The scenery was beautiful in this area. I would recommend a car to explore a bit. Volterra was another close old city worth exploring with San Gimignano as the home base. Nearby wineries and cooking classes were also wonderful.

San Gimignano is beautiful but in itself it's a bit like a shopping mall, too nice, too clean. But it is a prefect place to visite Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, Monteregionni etc… It is a bit far for Montepulciano but doable for early birds.
If one really want to visit extensively, plan 5 to 6 nights.

Great ice cream , beautiful piazzas, stunning frescos in the cathedral , lovely restaurants, historic cobbled streets, buildings, archways., dazzling views from the city walls and tower. Live music in piazzas. Great value city parking a short walk from historic centre. Our Hotel La Cisterna had a great location - easy to walk around and enjoy San Gimignano.

A very beautiful sight when driving among the Tuscan hills but a tourist magnet. The town itself is too touristy for my liking, it lost any originality or typical tuscan lifestyle due to the large numbers visiting. I prefer Siena or other towns or small villages near by where normal Italian life can still be seen.
Expect lots of queues, guided tours and lots of souvenir shops.
We loved our stay in Borgo Montauto! Thank you very much for having us.
The room was perfect for us, the house is lovely, breakfast really good!! The location was perfect to visit Tuscany whilst enjoying the calm and the views of the countryside. Special mention for the swimming pool, which is really enjoyable given the warmth of Italy.
There even is a covered area to park the car in the shade!
Exceptional stay, recommend 100%.
The location was stunning, just few minutes to San Gimignano and 30 minutes to Volterra. The hotel has just been renovated in some areas, rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast near the pool was delicious and the restaurant was very good as well. A plus is the pool, with a direct view of San Gimignano’s towers.
Stayed in Italy for almost one month and the 3 days spent here were by far the best. Accommodation was clean and large. Staff were super friendly. Pool and facilities including the dining was exceptional. 10/10
Beautiful place; we stayed at several apartments/houses in Italy and this was our (adult) children’s favourite! Beautifully furnished, very welcoming host, we loved it.
