Santa Maria Navarrese is a lovely little with a great local vibe - not too touristy. Access to the best of the Baunei coast is brilliant and the town has some fabulous eateries and resturants to suit all budgets and tastes. We loved eating and people watching at Mac Puddu's. The best pizza in town was Su Forra. We took a day boat trip with Nautica and had Mauro as our guide - He was brilliant. Nice small city with access to beaches. Great Gelato place - Maestro Gelataio! Very nice L'Olivastro Bar near the beach. Very good is Spiaggia del Lido delle Rose - with a small bar and library to borrow a book. Nearby is restaurant and camping. I used to travel there with my family when I was a kid, now I take there my husband and soon my son every year to enjoy the amazing nature and food. It feels just like home. Small town on the sea side surrounded by amazing mountains. Absolutely a must: eating typical food at MacPuddu's and aperitivo at Olivastro. We could always find a free spot in the parking when we stayed in the beginning of October.
