The host was very nice, she was very responsive and helped us get the free parking across the street from the place. She also helped arrange a pick-up the next day when I forgot my pillow. The place is pretty nice, clean, relatively quiet for the area, and has everything you will need.

Huge apartment, spotless clean, close to the center, close to the archaeological site of pompei, friendly people! Totally recommended!
Scafati is Pompei's less touristy, slightly dirtier cousin.
Scafati is Pompei's less touristy, slightly dirtier cousin. The main street near Parco Wenner is just lovely - amazing cafetteria (Cafetteria Ricciardi) and bakery/deli - but the area around the train station is a little sketchy.
But all that said, we walked back from Pompei at 10pm at night and didn't feel in any danger at all, lots of young people out and about.

Hotel was lovely and hotel restaurant very good.
Hotel was lovely and hotel restaurant very good. The area isn't particularly beautiful although you can easily walk out into the agricultural areas which are picturesque. Easy to travel around by train once you get the hang of it. Not many taxis in Scafati.

The hotel has a lot of potential. I like the position (close to Pompei but in a very quiet lateral street) and the "vintage" but ok style, with the stone facade, and I like the garden and the pool. It might be a very nice experience if only the property put some more effort and passion into it. During the night the room was fresh even with air conditioning switched off (and very hot weather) and this is a plus. We slept well.
1) Had a SUPERB view of Vesuvio and was close to Pompeii. 2) ALL staff and in house restaurant were CONSISTENTLY helpful and excellent. 3) Exterior parking lot for our car was large and very secure; hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood in Scafani. 5) Housekeeping was good as well.
In general, Hotel Nelton was a low key, friendly environment for our four day stay.
Clean new apartment located in the center of Scafati. Great balcony on the first floor with seats and table to relax. My son liked the shower. New soft towels.
