Loved so much about this place—the family that runs it was so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our spacious room and wrap around balcony with Mountain View’s. They had e-bikes, helmets, and day packs available for us to borrow at a moments notice. They also had great spa facilities to unwind after exploring in the mountains. The included breakfast was excellent with a la carte options included as well. And the dinner at their restaurant was the best meal of our trip. The ravioli was to die for!

Incredible service from start to finish. Felt like upscale camp with daily activities board catering to all levels of fitness and activity. We hiked three out of four days there and felt like family by the end. Restaurant was impeccable. Spa service was good, but not great. I would recommend this property to all friends and family. Impressive all around!

This family owned hotel, left the best impression of all the hotels we stayed on our trip to Dolomites! Every space in this hotel was beautifully appointed, and attention to details left an impression on us. Not only was it definitely charming but it was lavish, stylish and modern. Service was over-the-top exceptional, every day! Whenever we had an inquiry, not only did they try to help, but they would get on the phone and make calls for us to facilitate our stay, reducing our anxiety in an unfamiliar place. Everytime we returned from an excursion, they were intent on knowing our experiences and providing advice for the next day's excursions. The breakfast service in the beautiful breakfast room was much better than we experienced anywhere. The attendants welcomed us every morning with smiles, enthusiam and sincere concern with regards to our needs. We were amazed they always knew our names, and what language to speak. Everyone is multi-lingual! In addition to the incredible buffet, they took special orders for the kitchen to prepare eggs for us and took coffee and tea orders too, bringing us pots of coffee. The spa area was beautiful and they provided thick dark gray plush velour robes and slippers during our stay to wear to the spa area. The fitness room was modern, with updated equipment and free weights! One night it was late since we spent our whole day hiking and lost track of time, so restaurants were closing and it was raining. We were carrying a leftover calzone to the bar to get a drink with it. The owners offered to heat it up for us in the toaster oven! They presented it on a real plate with silverware and napkins, and the beers we ordered, while we sat in their beautiful upscale restuarant that was closed for the summer. It never mattered how we were dressed or our situation, we were treated like royalty every moment we stayed there. We will definitely return to The Laurin if we are ever in the area again!!

Great location. Yes it is not at the city center but it is on higher elevation which gives you a great view of the town. A short walk to some nice hikes. The bus stop is also less than a minute away. Sauna is great. After a long day hiking, the sauna was a phenomenal break. Management also gave us the complementary bus tickets for our stay.

    Selva di Val Gardena is really a sports town -- not much to do unless you hike, bike or ski. But if you love sports, its the place to be. A never ending number of trails and adventures await you. I would add that if you are freaked out by driving over high mountain passes with lots of hairpin turns, this might not be the destination for you.

    While Ortesie is slightly larger town, Selva is higher...

    While Ortesie is slightly larger town, Selva is higher elevation and more quaint alpine village, and better lift access. Busses are free, frequent, and electronic displays accurately show next bus, so visiting Ortesie for dinner or to explore or ski is easy. While we liked Ortesie, I would stay in Selva de Gardena the next time.

    Information on the website about the village amenity was...

    Information on the website about the village amenity was very poor. I would have liked more information about the public transport options, timetables etc. Information about the taxi to the horses was out of date and it cost a lot more than it said on the website. The lack of a bus link to other villages was a real drawback for me. And the cost of taxis was exorbitant. Also information about the grocery shops. The shops were very small and expensive. Although our accommodation was excellent I wouldn’t recommend this area again.

    A perfect base to go on hikes.

    A perfect base to go on hikes. There are so many hiking trails to choose from and plenty cable cars that will take you to the start of the trails. Very lively without being overly crowded with many restaurants, bars and shops so it's convenient. Great mobility, the public transport is well connected so we don't have to use the cars all the time.

    Beautiful place with amazing food wherever you go. Welcoming and friendly. So clean and well presented, the flowers on all the properties are incredible in the summer. So many outdoor activities and such a vast area to explore all within easy reach from the lifts.

    The location was very good - just a few minutes from some of the slopes and close to the centre. The bed was comfortable and bed linen clean. In general the whole residence was nice, tidy and clean. The staff member Natalia was really kind and helpful. The availability of SPA in the Aaritz hotel was also amazing - variety of options to relax and spend your afternoon. Ski locker is also available. What we liked the most was our view of the beautiful mountains.

    It was very practical for skiing. The hotel has adequate storage for the skiing material, and is within walking distance of the ski slopes and a ski rental shop. The staff were very friendly. Our luggage was delayed when we landed, so we were a couple of days without most of our stuff. Bernadette and Yuliana at the reception were very approachable and helped us manage this situation with tips on where to buy or rent ski wear while our luggage was missing.

    Really helpful staff, helped organise a special cake for my daughter’s birthday at the hotel restaurant. The rooms were spacious, clean and elegant with easy access to ski storage and a short walk to the lifts in the morning. Very comfortable for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Would have liked a microwave in the kitchenette but otherwise couldn’t fault anything. Would love to come back again!

    Helmut was an amazing host, there wasn’t anything that was too much trouble. My friend had a ski accident on our first day and he and the staff went out of their way to make her feel more comfortable, taking up breakfasts and lunches for example. Lovely traditional, homely and cosy hotel with all facilities needed for a ski break.

    The hotel was brand new. Very modern, very clean and in a great location to ski lifts. Breakfast was nice. Offered eggs in the morning but this was the only hot food option. Lots of fresh fruit, cereals and nice coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
