Hotel Abacus offers free high-speed WiFi, and a free fitness area with indoor heated pool, 2 saunas and Turkish bath. The room was nice. Bed was comfy. I liked the secure underground parking. I would not want to park a large vehicle there. But small rental car is good. It was really close to the M1 and train and that was really nice. But it was the last stop, so a little far from the center of the city. The staff was really nice. The espresso was good.

The place we stayed was a bit noisy, but maybe because of the weekend. There was close to metro stop Take Away and pharmacy open till late, which was very handy, as each evening we were coming back late, so we could get stuff on the way home from both.
I haven't been exploring so much Sesto San Giovanni, but it's close to Milan, and to the mountains north of Milan, and I highly recommend both. Many other interesting, and beautiful cities are located not too far from Milan, like Piacenza, Verona, Turin, and so on. So there's lots to discover around here.
Really enjoyed staying there because of: Feeling at home; the style and ambience of the rooms; all the necessary facilities at hand; walkable distance to the metro station (urban zone) that leads directly to the city centre (Duomo & Cadorna); proximity to three most popular Italian supermarkets; hospitable host and experience of living as a local resident.
This is a tourist trap! Coming from Milan Central Station they sell you underground tickets for Euro1.50 per trip then at the Sesto San Giovanni station you find the Transport Police ready all lined up, to give the tourist a Euro36.50 fine because they have the wrong ticket, which should be Euro1.90 instead of Euro1.50. If you haven't rented a car avoid this area!
Location is very convenient due to access to subway. The room given to me was just next the ceiling with waterfall that smells just bad. Supermarket next to the hotel is convenient if you want to shop Italian specialties, market is open even on sundays. Coffee shop next to hotel is good, restaurants options around is good. Italian channels dominate the Channel options. Free underground parking. Old building and furnitures need immediate renovation. Water on bathroom often changes from hot to cold that makes taking shower extremely difficult. Overall, if you ignore negative points hotel is well located.
We stayed in Sesto san Giovanni only to sleep in the hotel .There is nothing special about the place. But we travelled with the train to go to lake Como,Lecco and Lugano. The train station is not far...Vulcano shopping centre is great for shopping and a food supermarket is round the corner from the hotel
Good facilities, free breakfast and parking. Very good value
Very clean By the train station Good price Great breakfast
