There is not much in the center of Sesto, It feels like a passing route rather than a village, unlike San Candido where there are shops and cafes and restaurants. None of that in Sesto. Good place to stay if you want to hike around and nothing else. I think I would rather stay in San Candido or Villabassa next time. If you stay in Sesto make sure you stay at a hotel that serves breakfast and dinner. Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails. A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles. Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early. Thank you! The bedroom I stayed in was on the first floor with a balcony with a great view to the mountains and the apartment was equipped with a small kitchen for fast meals.
