In September, it still has a vibrant evening atmosphere, with restaurants, shops, and traditional music at the taverns. Sorrento was a great base for the Amalfi Coast and Naples area. You won’t feel trapped here because there are trains, buses and ferries at your disposal. Sorrento was busy but not overwhelmingly packed like Positano, for example. In the evenings it was relaxing because day trippers were gone. It is flat compared to other coast towns as well, which is nice when you spend a lot of time in Italy walking! We did a few day trips while in Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri and Positano. Our location was within walking distance to the pick-up point and about 45 min ride to the harbor. Sorrento is not a beach holiday there is lots of walking involved the local buses and trains are a good way to get around. A beautiful part of the world and would recommend visiting other areas of Italy , Positano, Almalfi, Capri . Enjoyed Cucu bar the food was great and the staff.
