We arrived via train and bus from Milan. very long day as flew from Perth WA and arrived at 6 am. Very pleased to find a comfortable bed walking up a steep footpath from the bus station with our luggage was a bit of a challenge. Lovely little town surrounded by beautiful mountains. Starting point for the Bernina Red Train, which is listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, hotels. Beautiful Basilica of Our Lady of Tirano worth visiting. Little medieval church of St Perpetua, 30 minute walk from the city centre up the hill - another hidden gem of this beautiful area.Guest review byPatrycja - 8.0

My stay was very short, just two nights. A little charming town, specially the old part was quite interesting. Location of Tirano is very convenient to travel around many beautiful places nearby. By using the train route from Tirano you can just get down at many beautiful places on the train route and spend whole day in trekking or swiming or just enjoying nature. It is not easy to get around Tirano. Taxi is available. But I didn't see public transport. So it is better to stay within a short distance from the railway/bus stations. Tirano is a small town and, understandably, many places of interest were closed on Sunday. Our best meal was at a new restaurant called Dall'Anna in Piazza Cavour on the corner next to the hotel (Albergo Gusmeroli). It provided excellent food and wine with wonderful service, in an interesting old building and air conditioning (it was 34C+ during our visit). They serve a mix of traditional and more modern interpretations of Italian food, all very fresh, with plentiful vegetables.Guest review byAnonymous

The location in the old town is perfect only a short walk from the train station and next to palazzo Salis. The building has been in the hosts family for generations each room is a delightful piece of history but with modern facilities. Breakfast was delicious the welcome so warm and I was given great advice on how best to enjoy Tirano.
