FAQs about hotels in Turin

Shrouded in Sophistication

Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.

The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.

By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.

However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference center. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.

Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

Torino is a great city for everything - sightseeing, food, cultural experiences, etc. As I have already submitted a review of Torino, in order not to repeat the same things, I will write about our visits to Genova and Novara. Genova is situated to the south of Torino - two hours by train. We went there to visit the Aquarium, and we weren't disappointed. However, apart from that, I wouldn't recommend it as it reminds me of Napoli - polluted, dirty, too many immigrants, not much to see. If I have to give it a rating 10/10 for Torino and 7/10 for Genova. I could add one mark for the famous Pesto Genovese, which you can purchase anywhere in the world. For a much better experience, I would recommend visiting Novara. Situated to the east of Torino - one hour by train (in the direction of Milano), you will find there the famous Basilica di San Gaudenzio, and more precisely, the Cupola (the dome). At 121 metres tall, it is one of the tallest domes in the world. More importantly, tourists can book a climb of the cupola (up to 100 metres), which is a once in a lifetime experience. Although not as big as Torino, Novar, for me, is much better city to visit than Genova.

Turin is quite a laid back city with lots of French influence and is known locally as "Little Paris". The old city is compact with some wonderful museums and relaxing gardens. People are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

On my first night I walked around aimlessly, happened to end up in some rough neighbourhoods which put me off exploring for the next two evenings. On my third and fourth evening I got back out and felt like I only just scratched the surface of what the city has to offer. I would like to return while I am not working so that I can explore museums and sights during the day which I was not able to get to due to work.

A city that is calm, respectful and quiet where everyone is friendly. Turin is also a bit dull - from the extreme uniformity of its architecture to the lack of vibrancy by day or by night. We managed good meals at reasonable prices, even in the centre on Via Porta Pallatina. The Metro and trams provide reliable, clean mobility.

A beautiful city destroyed by graffiti and buildings and infrastructure that needed a proper hose down. Virtually every wall had graffiti damage, the streets were covered with cigarette butts and overall cleanliness left plenty to be desired.

The historic center is very walkable.

The historic center is very walkable. Most of the sights and museums are right in the center. But also just walking the small side streets and enjoying the atmosphere, enjoying amazing food and coffee was one of my favorite things to do. Saturday market at porta palazzo is truly a must-experience. In the side streets in the city center watch out for small concept stores and cafes/bars; there are some real juwels to discover. If you like street art, to to the area of Campidoglio (10 min. by metro from the station). Really worth it (during the week, as Sunday everything is closed).

Very clean hotel - throughout. Quiet room, even though it is very close to a tram line. Staff very helpful - especially the Director, Signor Mario Lentini. The hotel is located in the Centro Storico, very close to cultural spots, shops, etc. Our room, for 3 pax, was spacious enough and all equipment was well kept. Our six-day stay in Torino during July 2025 was wonderful; we enjoyed the city's vibe, culture, and sense of tranquility; more than we did in Milan and in Rome. And our stay at Hotel Chelsea made our experience even better.

What a fabulous hotel near the Porta Susa Railway station and right on the main bus/tram routes and only 15 minutes walk to the main piazza in Turin. The hotel was perfect with exceptional staff ,comfy beds and spotless throughout.Great value for money and a nice touch was having a free beer each day form the reception bar in lieu of our rooms being serviced each day. I would definately stay here next time we visit our family. Amazing rooms with huge beds and plenty of sleeping areas.

Great place to stay in Turin, relatively close to city center. Parking is in the garage which is great. There is a supermarket within the gated garden/park, as well as a coffee shop and a restaurant, very convenient! There is a social inovation component to this hotel, so everything is really thought through and well designed. Well done!

The hotel is ideally located near the Porta Nuova train station in the centre of Turin. The hosts give you a room code which you use to access your room rather than check in at a reception. The room was clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly. No complaints.
