We found Trani to be an excellent starting point for our trips. We chose not to stay in Bari, preferring the authentic atmosphere of a smaller city. Trani was a great choice. We took longer trips to Gargano, Vieste, and the beaches there, as well as to Bari, Monopoli, Castel del Monte, and Polignano a Mare.

Trani is a jewel on the Adriatic with an incredible history .. Trani was a major trading center due to its position on the Adriatic . They wrote the first European marine code in 1107 (or around that date ) The houses are beautiful all sunwashed different colors. Everyone seems happy and relaxed . They are happy to help you find where you're going,Oh and the food ? You can eat very well for very little . Also I never saw a homeless person , or a policeman or heard a harsh word from parents to children between couples. The beach is the best . I never realized how much I hated sand . The white pebble beach is perfect, clean, nothing sticks to you like sand dies and the water?!. The water is warm , and welcoming not salty like California
The port is also beautiful with fish caught and brought directly to the port restaurants where you eat fresher than fresher than fresh . I could go on , the cathedral, the castle but see for yourself!!

The host was very accommodating.he let us store our luggage and drove us to the train Station. The bed was very comforable. The room is spacious and in a beautiful old building. It is one flight of steps up to the hotel and there is no elevator, but it’s not difficult.

Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia.
Trani is a fabulous town, a must visit if you are in Puglia. Trani has loads of different restaurants and fabulous clothes shops. Try to have dinner on the Port of Trani and watch the fisherman bring in their catch and sell it on the side of the port near the Cathedral of Trani. The terrace bar at the Ognassi Hotel is very special and totally worth a visit too.

Trani was not preplanned....we found a B&B last minute, which was fanatastic, we were outside the holiday season so the Town was quiet, the harbour front offered many bars & restaurants, although we found a really good pizza bar on the back street, Art 'e' Arcimboldo Pizza Bistrot.
The Cathedral (plus Bell Tower 250+steps) & Castle both worth a visit, both offering alternative views of the Town below & harbour.
One night/day probably enough.

Silva and her husband were delightful hosts. They were available for any request and recommended numerous beautiful restaurants and locations which made our trip in Trani special. Our room was small but very clean, good air conditioning and all necessary facilities. The terrace was absolutely beautiful and provided stunning views of the famous castle. Will definitely return, thank you.
Borgobeltrani is in a lovely part of Trani. The property has been beautifully restored, and the rooms are generously sized. We loved our short stay there and found the staff very welcoming.
Rooms are air conditioned, and ours featured a nespresso coffee machine which was a nice touch.
Breakfast is served next door and included coffee, cereal, yoghurt and pastries.
Recommended.
Trani was a total surprise as was the Palazzo Filisio. The hotel is grand, elegant and wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was beyond our expectations with so many choices. Our room overlooked the cathedral and the harbour. I can’t recommend it enough.
Spacious suite with everything you need to have a fantastic visit to a hidden jem which is Trani. Great location for the train and visiting all the sites. Friendly and helpful owner. Care has been taken in creating a lovely place to stay.
The best possible location in Trani.
We loved our unit - very comfortable, clean and big enough for two people.
And the bonus 0 roof terrace with the view over the Trani harbor
