I loved absolutely everything about the property! Valentina, and her husband Stefano, were two of the most exceptional hosts I have ever met in my many travels! In fact, I met numerous members of the family, and they too were overly gracious to me when I visited the family taverna on a daily basis. Valentina provided so many extra comforts to make me feel at home in this beautiful bedroom apartment.

Villa del Cardinale is spectacular! The grounds are beautiful and exactly as I imagined a stay in the Umbrian countryside would be. The host, Nazzaro, is a sweetheart and made me feel like I was family. Even though I don’t speak any Italian and he spoke no English, he had so much patience and a great sense of humor as we communicated using my translation app. He even took the initiative to arrange dinner for me at a wonderful restaurant up the road. He drive me into town when it was time for me to leave, dropping me at the escalator which took me up to the historic area and walking path which brought me all the way through historic Spoleto and back to the train station. There are a handful of cats outside that were very curious and cute when I sat to have a snack and enjoy the grounds. I can’t recommend this proper enough! I will be back if possible someday.

    The view and location in the mountains are even better than pictures can do justice. Road up is steep and winding but quiet. Hospitality was so lovely, had an amazing set menu dinner. Dog is also very friendly and sweet.
