We walked from Dana Village to Feynan. Beautiful and peaceful. Take lots of water! For accommodation I would recommend avoiding Rumana Camp. Nawatef Camp and Dana Eco camp are great. Feynan lodge is well worth it.
The "hotel" is more like a stop for hikers. That may be fine when the weather is better, but with freezing temperatures and the only heating being a heater on butane gas inside a room half hewn out of rocks, it is a completely different matter. Especially when the water and electricity was cut, this became a highly uncomfortable stay. And the price was rather steep for what was offered.
Dana Nature Reserve is a must visit place when traveling in Jordan. Lots of hiking trails, amazing nature, friendly people. Best place to stay - Dana Tower hotel. Very nice hosts, great food, professional guides. They will make your trip unforgettable
Very impressive countryside but difficult to find the right accommodation. Good short trails from Rumana camp side, like Rumana trail or cave trail. From Dana Village the long trail to Feynan Eco Lodge needs a transfer back on 4x4 (3-4hrs).
If you are thinking about going to Dana, bare in mind that you have to take cash and food with you because there are no ATMs and not many options in terms of grocery stores and restaurants. Try to arrive early, during the morning, so you can enter the Biosphere Reserve and enjoy the beautiful trails, If you arrive in the afternoon, you still have some options, one or two small trails. I would recommend staying in a campsite instead of a hotel.
Beautiful views, great weather, less trash. Only have seen bits and pieces of it. Would offer travelers to give it more time, go on a hike at least for a few hours with the locals, guides.. Mostly rocks, mountains and slopes. Requires better shoes. Rent a car for a good travel, but understand that driving there is quite a challenge that will make you stronger. Be careful and don't rush.
