The city itself isn't much, but you don't go there for the city. You go for Petra, which is one the best things I have ever seen in my life. There are some quite decent places to grab a bite in the centre of Wadi Musa.
We only stayed in Wadi Musa for 2 nights, arrived in the evening and left right after breakfast so we only had one day there which we spent in Petra. We knew that the weather was going to get worse in the afternoon so we went to Petra early and walked the entire basic route. Then they closed the whole area and people were transported out on buses and trucks. It's important to pay attention to weather forecasts!
Exceptional place and sights. An exceptionnally bad accomodation did not ruin altogether the experience, but gives pause for thought about selecting the right rooms on other journeys. And the price of the room is clearly not the only indicator.
Three days is barely enough if you're a hiker, like me. There are many wonderful trails in Petra, be sure not to miss them! Trail to Little Petra is a must, really awesome views. Go to Mother of Cisterns mountain - few tourists and spectacular sights over the Petra valley.
absolutely beautiful! a real highlight for us. a camel ride through the desert is a must. we recommend the rum stars camp. beautiful cabin style tents. good food and very interesting guides. bare in mind its v cold at night in the desert in winter!!
Must stay in the desert in the bendouin tent or the panoramic bubbles . Unique experience and must do the desert tour with Jeeps and camels! The village Wadi Musa hasn't much to see tou can go for a two hour visit and shop some souvenirs or traditional items . But the desert tour and the landscape day and night are fantastic to experience.
Very nice and cozy hotel in the downtown of Wadi Musa. Great and helpful staff, excellent breakfast, very clean rooms. Good view over the mosque and the hills of Petra at sunset. The have free swimming pool and Jacuzzi. If you plan to visit Petra at 6 am, they can offer you the included breakfast at the box so you can take it with you. They recommended us the Al Wadi restaurant in downtown, good looking and tasty Jordanian kitchen. You can find a cheap Mini-market next to the hotel (only 0.5 JD - 1,5 liter of bottled water).
