This is the place you are dreaming of! We were looking for something special to end our honeymoon trip to Japan. Miyako island is an incredible place, and the rescape makes it even better. This is not the typical resort with enormous buildings over the sea. The rescape is literally immersed in nature without ruining it. We stayed in the comfort cottage, a huge room with a private swimming pool. Everything was just perfect: pool, beds, shower, bath tub, breakfast (both "western" and Japanese, served on alternating days). The shabu shabu dinner served to the room was delicious, totally worth it! I appreciated their care for the environment. Also, the staff is so kind and discreet: they will give you all the privacy you need but they're always ready to help you.

I enjoyed staying at Shigira, the service was great, the room condition was perfect. All the staffs were so kind, especially the English staff(so sorry that I forgot the name) helped us book dinners for the whole stay and upgrade our room to ocean view. I would definitely choose Shigira for my next stay. Thanks a lot!

Where do I start? It was just perfect for us! Extremely helpful, kind and understanding host. Can't fault the villa and the service we received. Exceptional! Everything you think you will need is in the villa. We had two small children so we opted to sleep on futon on the tatami rather than the beds, only because there weren't any bed guards. Fabulous villa, extremely clean and for us, the location worked as well. They even had few books and toys for the kids to play with. Just can't think of anything bad about this place! Fabulous and enjoyable stay.

Welcome by the owner. Very nice lady who takes the trouble to present the equipment of the house and has the delicate attention to provide welcome sweets for the children. The house with 4 bedrooms is very good for a family stay. Nice sea view.
