These hotels in Fukuoka are highly rated by couples: Hakata-no-Yado Tsurezure-Ann, GRAND BASE Hakata Naraya, and Garden Terrace Fukuoka.
Fukuoka is really easy to walk around, or take public transit. The food is great and there's lots to see! There are a bunch of museums and cool landmarks, as well as famous foods to eat. There's also lots of shopping. It's tons of fun!
Fukuoka is a vibrant city! Not as big or hectic as other city heavyweights like Osaka or Tokyo, but still a very proper city! It has all the things the other famous cities do.... The museums, the sites, the restaurants, and the shopping. If you are there in the right season, I recommend hitting up the yattais, small old fashioned food carts that sell local street food. These used to be all over Japan in the older times, but now are only legal in Fukuoka.
Fukuoka has all the greats of Japan in a condensed city - Beach, Temples, Mountains, Onsens, City Nightlife, and Food! They are all within arms reach or more specifically - car, bus or train. Super easy to get around and you have plenty to do throughout the day. Fukuoka is a place to chill. It's like visiting a best friend. I love Fukuoka for it's accessibility - you can get the rural life feeling of Kyoto but the city vibes of Osaka/Tokyo. There aren't a lot of touristy places to check out but lots of chill spots to hangout in, cool bars, extremely friendly people and amazing restaurants.
Quality cuisine in almost every corner. Granted, it helps to know the language. When it comes to sightseeing, you have to commit to a 20-30 train ride to get somewhere good. Fukuoka Station is a great starting point.
Fukuoka is one of my favorite places in Japan. It's a lot more relaxed than Tokyo, but there's still so much to do. Although the pandemic means we shouldn't travel unless it's absolutely necessary, in the future, I do recommend going to Fukuoka as an introduction to Japan, and in general. Although there's a lot of things in the prefecture that I would recommend, the one I'll suggest here is to go to Itoshima for oysters and other shellfish. It's a fairly long ride from Hakata Station (maybe about 90 minutes) but it's definitely worth it to go with a small group. of friends to enjoy a more rural area of Japan and good food.
If you go to Fukuoka definitely fit in a little day trip to Nokonoshima, a small island only 10 minutes by ferry from the the city. It has a gorgeous flower park with stunning sunset views and the area where the ferry port is has nice food and beaches. In Fukuoka city itself, Ohori Park is a great spot for a relaxing walk with lovely views and Fukuoka Tower has great views of Hakata Bay and is lit up at night. The Canal City shopping mall has beautiful water shows and a whole area full of ramen restaurants with the local specialty, Hakata Ramen, and also from other parts of Japan. I also recommend taking a little river cruise around sunset, beautiful and relaxing. Notable temples and shrines are Nanzoin, with a massive bronze reclining Buddha statue, and Dazaifu Tenman-gu, a big shrine with lovely grounds and a little shopping street with great local crafts and souvenirs.
(1) Even there is in-room attached bathroom, but hotel is providing the Onsen/ public bath which is awesome for winter season. (2) 24 hours (exclude breakfast time) dine in pantry with free flow of variety drinks (fruit juice, coffee, tea and etc.) (3) super near to hakata famous ramen shop - Hakata Issou & convenient shop - Daily Yamazaki, just right opposite. (4) We took city bus from airport stopped @ the bus stop which distance only few steps from the hotel.
It was value for money, close to the airport, easily accessed and has a Family Mart beside it at the Ground Floor. For the price, it's really competitive compared to other hotels in the area with the same size. Part of the reason why we want to come back to Fukuoka is because of this hotel. Hotel is close to nearby yummy restaurants too. I also like that it's in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel is near Exit 3 of Hakata Gion Station, like a 3 to 5 minute leisure walk.
The hotel has perfect location next to Hakata/Shinkansen Railway Station (with Japan Rail Pass it’s really good base for trips around Kyushu) and Bus Terminal. It’s also only two stations from the Fukuoka Airport by underground and not far away from the city centre. We spent here two nights and were very satisfied - all the staff were very pleasant and helped us with everything we needed, food was also very good.
Fukuoka
Great location that's only a few meters away from Nakasu kawabata station exit 3, which is a great station to stay at while travelling around Fukuoka as Tenjin and Hakata and the airport are nearby. The hotel has really nice and new facilities and the shared space on the 2nd floor is very spacious. The staff are lovely and the bar has free beers for an hour at 5:30 which is always a winner in my books.
Breakfast was a good mix of western and Japanese food. Vegetables were fresh, juices were refreshing. Pumpkin soup was my favourite! Staffs were very friendly and nice. Public bath was also very nice. Location is perfect for shopping and dining. Seven eleven is right across the street. I will certainly stay at the hotel next time I visit Fukuoka.
I love everything about this hotel. It is a timeless classic luxury that I would love to come back to when in Fukuoka. Hotspring is natural which is a plus. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant was over the top. I was very much impress. Staff were also very accommodating. P.S. I love their pajamas too and would love to get one when I’m back again.
Really lovely lounge space- my family enjoyed relaxing and playing board games every afternoon to rest after exploring Fukuoka. The room was a good size for Japan, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Location is nice too- easy to get to the train station, and many restaurants and parks nearby.
Was with the parents, so wanted something nicer and more comfortable for them. Cheaper hotels are out there but you get what you pay for here. Super helpful staff (helped us with taxis and calling in Japanese about event info), good rooms, and probably the best breakfast spread we have seen in Japan.
Fukuoka
The staff were very accommodating and overall a very authentic Ryokan experience. Not too far walking distance from major precincts like Tenjin and Hakata, and nearby the best coffee shop in Japan I've been to so far (No Coffee).
Location... Close to subway from airport... Hakata/Canal City has many attractions and plenty of dinning options within walking distance... Hotel Breakfast at Yayoi-oken is great value...
Good location close to Hakata Station, so convenient for travelling around to places outside fukuoka. Hotel itself was modern and perfectly nice if nothing that special.
Fukuoka
Perfect aparthotel next to the airport and the subway station. Had everything I needed before my flight in the morning and the staff explained everything very well.
If location matters to you, this would be one of the best budget hotels you can stay in Hakata. Plus, the breakfast is nice!
In the overall level of hospitality standards this hotel always exceeds my expectations with their fantastic level of costumer service and attention to every possible detail. I travel to Fukuoka once a month and always stay with them.
It was very clean with the extra toiletries. Staff were attentive and knew exactly what we needed before we even asked. They offered us a taxi right as we were about to go look for one exiting the hotel. Amazing.
Location is perfect, staffs are helpful and without barriers of language. The free beer hour is highlight, besides the room is also perfectly equipped. Strongly recommended, good value for money as well.
compared to the low price, the hotel was really good. They assigned me a room that was bigger than my expectation. The interior was renovated and super clean. The staff were nice and helpful.
the staff was great and the location is great.
Nice breakfast and easy to HAKATA station.
