There are a lot of places to visit depending on your interests. Going around Fukuoka is fairly easy as it is with other Japanese cities. It is a good place to stay if you want to visit the Kyushu area as it has access to different cities as well.
Bustling city with lots of unique culinary choices. Had the best beef barbecue. Shopping paradise with malls everywhere. For culture there is the Kushida shrine in the heart of the city and a good art museum as well. A must visit city.
Fukuoka Art Museum, Asian Art Museum are great experiences for art lovers. There was not enough time to visit more. The castle grounds also feature a wonderful wisteria and peony garden. Fukuoka Tower is beautifully lit.
Fukuoka is a large city that feels local and accessible. It's easy to navigate by subway or bus (both are quite cheap), but it's also quite walkable. Ohori Park is a must-visit, not only for the gorgeous lake and its excellence for a long stroll, but the art museum is truly first-class. The zoo was a pleasing way to spend a couple of hours. Fukuoka is definitely a shopper's destination.
Fukuoka is an amazing city! Laid back, low key but has everything the bigger cities have. People are friendly and food is mind-blowing! Be sure to go to Canal City, Tenjin and Hakata station. Tosu Premium Outlets is worth a visit. The Sakura season is the perfect time to plan a trip. We will definitely be back!
We loved Fukuoka! The food was excellent and the people warm & helpful (not a lot of American tourists, which we liked). Our mama is from there and it was nice to see where she grew up and to meet our relatives. We always felt safe too.

I had my best nights in this apartment hotel, the room is really spacious for 4 adults and 1 children. Although the apartment hotel is a 12 minute walk may seem far but it’s only a straight walk ahead. The bathroom is small but the shower is exhilarating and they provide good quality shampoo. Minimalist design and there is also a balcony outside of the room which provide a breathtaking view of the park outside. On top of that, everything in the room was well equipped and clean. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come to Hakata.

The best part of staying at the hotel was the staff. So friendly and accommodating. The facilities were pretty good and the hotel location was the best. Hotel WBF Tenjin Minami is located in an area where restaurants are open until 3am so no trouble getting your ramen fix late night. It was also walking distance to Fukuoka’s famous yatai stalls and also canal city. Bus stops are also near the area so guests won’t have trouble looking for transportation to go to the tourist spots.

Japanese hostels keep very high standards of cleaninness, comfort and amenities, and Common De definitely follows them for 100%. It's a best hostel in Japan I stayed in during my trip. I felt welcomed here, and enjoyed my stay so much. Hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood in a waking distance from nearest city train station. It's worth that walk, especially if you plan to stay for more than one night in Fukuoka.

I loved this little hostel. The communal area downstairs had a lovely rose smell that I really liked. Good books on the shelf and little things provided like hot water and tea with nice cups. The staff were the friendliest that I encountered in all of japan! They talked to me and asked me questions, and seemed interested in why I’d traveled to Fukuoka and taught me a bit of Japanese. Charming guest house.

Bathroom was disproportionately big for the room (for Japanese standards at least). Laundry self service in the hotel. Very central location, 10 minutes away from Hakata station (main Fukuoka station). Handy - simple Android device providing unlimited data and calls (domestic and international). That was really cool. Free drinks in hotel's cafeteria. Staff spoke good English. Modern rooms.

It’s super clean, modern, good location (2 min walk to Hakata Station). I booked a triple bed room which is bigger than I expected, plus the bathroom is bigger than average Japanese hotel. Except the room price is a little expensive than I expected for a triple room but overall it’s still value for money! I would definitely stay in this hotel again when I visit Fukuoka next time.

I found my first stay so pleasant that I opted for the same hotel for my last night in Fukuoka. It was good to know I’d be spending my last night in Japan in a comfortable hotel. The staff were great, and the guy on the front desk was happy to help me out even when I phoned down after midnight. Really recommended as a hassle-free place to stay in Fukuoka.

This was such a welcome bit of space after being in tiny Japanese hotel rooms. Beautiful large apartment with fantastic facilities. View over the river, walking distance from great areas of the city. Such lovely staff and very generous with complimentary drinks and snacks. I wish there were more of these around Japan I would always try to stay in one.

It’s location .The hotel is few minutes away from various attractions like Canal City,Kawabata Arcade ,Hakata station and several temples .An added bonus is the proximity to family mart which is just across the street and 7 -11 which is less than 4 minutes by foot .I also enjoyed the food at the attached restaurant .

Everything is great. It's a japanese traditional house located in a perfect place(2 mins walk to Muromi metro station). The owner of the house is super amiable and helpful. He gave us a handwritten guide of Fukuoka in my language. The room is clean and the futon is cozy. This is the best place to stay in Fukuoka.

Stayed in room facing to the river. Room was very small, but comfortable. Good bed. Location of the hotel was great. From Hakata train station and the Fukuoka airport easy ride by subway. Exit no. 16, hotel almost right across the street. Good breakfast, delicious japanese choices of food.
