We rode the Shimanami Kaido. This hotel is near the Onominchi side. Very clean. The owner met us when we rode up and helped us find food and even gave us chopsticks when we got back from buying food and realized we had nothing to eat with. Water boiler and refrigerator. Great view. Balcony. Off the path so very quiet.

We booked two rooms for our family of four. We were pleasantly surprised how spacious they were, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The host was incredibly kind, he suggested the best places to eat and buy locally produced lemon pastries, and when we were leaving, he brought his cat, Tiger, and waved goodbye to us. As we were on a three-day bike trip and only had our small backpacks with us, we loved the fact that everything was provided: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, etc. In each room there were even a couple of bottles of water and everything for making tea and coffee. In the common spaces there was a microwave, guidebooks, manga books, and a wall full of Toso Maps of the Shimanami Kaido trail. We will definitely book Bed&Cafe Onzo again next time we bike the Shimanami Kaido!

If you fancy a break from Japanese city life, head for this lovely guest house in Kamijima Islands. Your host Koji can not do enough to help you enjoy your stay. He picked us up and dropped us back @ the port, waited for us to pick up supplies at the supermarket, lent us bikes free of charge, gave us plenty of advice, responded immediately to any queries we had, and even booked our restaurants! Thank you Koji! Exploring this peaceful group of islands was an absolute delight.

Great location. Very peaceful and quiet. Traditional sleeping room was so comfortable and well explained. The hosts went out of their way to help us with so many things! The bikes they rented us were great.

Gamigami is located with a fantastic view across the inland sea with islands near and in the distance. It is a pity that cables are in this view as seen from the rooms but you can go up on the flat roof for an unobstructed view. It is not very far on a nearly flat road to the ferry to Onomichi so it makes a good last night if you are cycling from Imabari taking several days as we did. We had a comfort Japanese style room.

Excellent facilities, very comfortable beds and lots of space. The location is also perfect for starting/ending cycling the Shimanami Kaido. Would love to stay here again but for longer the next time! Yuji and Junko are excellent hosts, providing welcome snacks and transport to the ferry terminal. Thank you both for a wonderful experience in Mukaishima!
