Not much to see here. On the one evening we wandered through the streets the city seemed deserted and empty. The only real attraction is the sand bath. But as stated on there website you are not allowed to use them when you are menstruating. Why that is I do not know. I feel it is very ignorant and intolerant. The warm sand could be very beneficial to people with period cramps. Menstruating is not dirty or unhygienic.
Just 1 hour away from Kagoshima by train (JR Line), Isubuki is definetly worth to visit and try the local sand spas (around 1.200 Yen per person). Allow 2h for the this world unique experience. Bring a towel! At the station your find the only 7 Eleven in the village. Is like 20 min walking to the Sand Spa (no bus available)
It was gorgeous! So many things to do from the sand baths to Mt. Kaimon to Nagasakibana Cape. The town has an Eevee promotion going around where you can look for sewer covers of the Eevee family all around town. It’s a cute scavenger hunt.
Healthy Land is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the visit. Just need to time the public transportation right- every hour there is bus back and forth, journey takes about 20min. Believe on Thursday the outdoor hot spring is closed so check before going.
Must go place in Japan. Has a super sand bath and the number one outdoor hot spring in Japan. Go to the healthy land sand bath, it's got an amazing view and it's right next to the tamate outdoor hot spring - the best view hot spring ever! And go to Nagasakibana cape as well to explore the most southern edge of Kyushu Island. We traveled around by car, much much easier.
Excellent service from Ms Yuri and team. We were greeted at the entrance by Ms Yuri and her colleague and their hospitality made us felt very welcomed. We were able to get good recommendation by Ms Yuri on good restaurant. The team always tried their best to help and if they were unable to assist, they would refer us to another team member who would help us with our queries. Great team with excellent service and we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel!

This guest house is very close to the Ibusuki station, and it is very convenient to go to other places from the guest house. Although the whole building is old, it is very clean and well maintained inside. The staff is also very friendly. And it is nice that they have free parking space for people who come by car.
Great Japanese experience, ryokan style, huge hotel resort from the economic boom 50 years earlier. I do love the mood that comes from these old hotels that are very well kept. Nice staff as well.
