The decor of the room was nice and cozy. It had everything we needed and is near the major sights. We walked to the bamboo grove early in the morning! Staff didn’t speak a lot of English but were very willing to help with the use of a translation device.

Loved this hotel for a second time. Access from JR Saga Arashiyama station could not be easier! A perfect choice to enable an early stroll along the bamboo path. The breakfast is a very novel experience: with an English brochure and help at hand, guests make their own tofu at their table. The small cafe is also very convenient for lunch. Nearby Randen line gives access to many other iconic places in north-west Kyoto.

If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai.

If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.
