The hotel is simple but very clean and elegant, the rooms are spacious compared to other hotels across Japan, the staff were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to help us out, the location is amazing with only a 10 minute walk from Nishiki market, and around 10 minutes walking to the old Gion district. Would definitely book it again!

    We loved walking the Philosophers Path and having lunch in that area. We went to the 400 year old Ozu Washi paper shop which was great. The bamboo walk was interesting and the Golden Pavion was beautiful. Kenninji Temple with its zen garden was so peaceful.

    Getting around the city is easy, whether on foot, by bus, or by metro. Cultural and historical richness is almost everywhere you look. The city is modern, yet its atmosphere remains calm and serene. With countless gardens and parks, it offers peaceful spaces to relax and connect with nature. Summer may not be the most colorful time of the year in Japan, but it comes with a welcome perk: fewer tourists!

    We truly enjoyed our time in Kyoto.

    We truly enjoyed our time in Kyoto. The city is beautiful, full of history, culture, and charm, and it was very easy to visit Osaka from here as well, which made our trip even better. Every day brought something special, from temples and gardens to food and shopping. Kyoto felt welcoming and unforgettable, and we know for sure that we will definitely return. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

    I was told this was the cultural heart of Japan and am so glad we made it a part of our trip. A beautiful city with a casual, artsy vibe. So many shrines and temples - I wish I had made more time to explore. So many great places to eat! Gear Theatre's show was amazing! Also we enjoyed Arashiyama Monkey Park. We took cabs (easy to flag down or schedule with the apps) pretty much everywhere and saw so much of the city this way. I did not expect the crickets to be so loud while walking around in the morning but it was easy to get used to - sort of like the music that malls play in the background while you are shopping. Will absolutely return to explore this beautiful place more thoroughly!

    Love the friendly staff, the room is very kids friendly, the shared kitchen area are with good kitchen appliances, and the staff constantly sharing some toys with my daughter and other family kids as well. This is definitely the best family friendly hotel I have ever stayed if compare to those 5 stars kids friendly hotel. Close to nearby multiple restaurants but there are very packed during dinner time. We had the karaage take out opposite the hotel and it was so good. Will definitely come back again.

    I booked a single room with shared bathroom. The room was very small but it was no surprise for Japan :) The restroom was very clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast was offered in a café nearby, just 30 steps from the hotel. It might not be the best one in town, but sufficient to start the day with energy :) The hotel is quiet and yet in a good position, not so far from Gion, has shopping facilities not far away and is at walking distance from the station (more or less 20 minutes or a subway stop)

    Everything. The hotel design, cleaningness, the amenities, the public bath, all. Had the best sleep in Japan, the bed and pillows are amazing. They provide very cozy pijamas. The bathroom is huge and so is the room by Japanese standards. It is very close to the train and bus stations in a calm area, near a park. The hotel is quite new from 2020 and feels brand new. Family Mart on the ground floor and 7 Eleven 5 minutes away and they provide ice and a microwave.

    The concept is so cool — each room is designed by a different Japanese artist, so it felt like I was staying inside an art gallery. Super creative, visually stunning, and definitely a unique experience. I loved the bold design and the fact that it didn’t feel like your typical hotel — it’s giving boutique, edgy, and aesthetic. Perfect for photos and artsy vibes. Breakfast was also the best I had in Japan (for an aussie meal).
