We loved the layout of this apartment. It was very clean and had all the essentials. The location is also very convenient with a car because there are many great restaurants and points of interest nearby. The check-in was very simple and the communication from the hosts was brilliant. We also made use of their helpful advice. We visited a great local restaurant and a brilliant onsen, one of the best we have tried (Japan-wide).

What a special place! We love staying in old Japanese houses, and this one has been the best yet. It is so very well maintained and the gardens are gorgeous. We loved sitting in the mornings in the sun room overlooking the garden where you could hear the ocean waves. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and directly next to the beautiful beach. So many stars to see from the backyard! It was a very peaceful stay.
Located in Nachikatsuura, within a 18-minute walk of Nachi Beach and 0.7 miles of Nachikatsuura Sports and Cultural Center, 町中ステイ 宗ハウス provides accommodations with a garden and free WiFi as well as... The house was very comfy and clean. The facilities are modern...more so than some hotels. I travelled alone and got the entire room for myself and the futon was very comfortable and clean. Area was very quiet and it's like a getaway town. The house was spacious and honestly thought that I want my house to be like this. The owner was very nice and spoke good English! They also provided towels and toothbrush like hotels. The house was very tidy and they had complimentary beer in the fridge, though I'm not sure if they give this to everyone who stayed or just a coincidence that they have. Overall very happy and exceeded expectations.
If you like seafood, and in particular tuna, this town is known for two things and one of them is it is tuna catch. It seems to be the place to buy mikan oranges too! We bought 1kg for Y300. It was only 5 km drive to the Nachi waterfalls.
That's the best stop of our 10-day trip in Japan. The seafood market, tuna auction, hot springs and seaport... - everything was such a relaxing surprise. We'll definitely come back to explore more！
Nice place a little off the beaten track. Look for small roads on the coast, to discover rocks, bays and small beaches. Onsen everywhere. Fish market (Tsukiji) specialised in Tuna. The Fishermen Association's supermarket sells many different fish... and more. Worth staying a few days and explore the region from there.
There is not a lot going on in this sleepy rundown old town. We went out for dinner on a Monday night and there were 2 choices of restaurants. The one we went to had delicious sashimi but it isn't worth staying here for. If you don't need to stay here then do the waterfall and shrine and keep going.
