From the host, location, facility, breakfast, and beyond, it’s clear there is so much care that goes into Hichu House. The host was caring, and knowledgeable about the area. Her Korean breakfast was made with love, and delicious. The room was well-thought out, modern, super comfortable, and clean. I booked for 2 nights, then ended up staying for 3. I wish I stayed for even longer! The location is perfect to travel around central and northern Okinawa. Being so close to the beach is also a plus, perfect for watching the sunset. The village is warm and inviting. The cafe area is perfect to interact with other guests, and have a drink together at the end of the day. I loved everything about it!

The amenities of this property and spaciousness of the room were amazing. Free parking, toiletries, and Netflix (account was provided; we didn't use ours). There is a washing machine and dryer with detergent provided. 7-11 was right next door. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. We slept comfortably, and it was very quiet.

I was hesitant to book because there was only one review (albeit a 10/10) for the hotel on Booking.com, but it looked idyllic in the pictures and was exactly what I was looking for. I haven't regretted booking it for a second. The hotel (originally from the 70s) is located directly on a quiet beach and was recently renovated. In terms of design, it has been catapulted into the next millennium. The result is a distinctly Japanese aesthetic with contemporary elements. Beautiful solid wood furniture has been combined with tatami mats and smooth concrete floors. The western beds are very comfortable. I recommend booking a room on the 2nd floor, where the rooms have a nicely furnished balcony overlooking the sea. The beautiful and quiet location of the hotel and the surrounding area is complemented by a very friendly and caring host. Since I didn't have a car, he helped me get around by cab and public transportation. I preferred the Japanese breakfast to the Western one. It was delicious, as were the snacks offered in the late afternoon. Try the Okinawan beer to go with it. The whole experience felt a bit like living at the beach within a Murakami novel, with atmospheric jazz and lovely chance encounters. Wonderful.

This place was so much better than I imagined. We loved being able to hear the brook as we lay in bed. There's so much space. The tub is nice. I loved the reading room by the shower room. I also loved the bench by the window. If I were to have a house built, I'd want it just like this. I loved the swing outside the glass treehouse. I also loved the hammock on top of it.

    I only stayed in my hotel because it was raining but i definitely wish I stayed longer (I was only there for one full day— the other two I travelled to and from my hotel) but I really wish I booked a longer stay. It’s not as busy as Naha or other popular areas so for me it was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could have visited some local attractions such as the pineapple park but unfortunately it rained on the day I wanted to go and I didn’t really feel like doing that in the rain. But I’d recommend 2-3 full days here!

    Nago has fantastic beaches.

    Nago has fantastic beaches. Most of them not advertised enough. However the restaurants are small (at least where we were...at Yugaf Inn) and they dont seem to bother serving forighners. Some even have notes out on the door. Shocking And that is a big one. Plus nobody speaks english so that makes things hard.

    we went in rainy season (late may) so not the smartest of us. however the one sunny day we had we went to the beach and how wonderful. the beauty of okinawa especially up north is unparalleled and when you get to experience it firsthand it is breathtaking. i wish we could have gone to yanbaru! I recommend a couple things: -dye workshop at BOTANICA (indigo and natural dye of natural fibres clothing shawl bag or something you bring) run by a family near the Nakijin castle (also great recommendation) -Biking along the coast (its not for the faint hearted but its so rewarding) -nago museum (great history and natural history emphasizing unity of nature and people and cultural history of pre japan ryuku kingdom -okinawa soba! satchan soba is great, get the pork rib or sanmainiku -captain kangaroo hamburger for GIANT JUICY BURGER -fishing port teishoku restaurant for tuna or mixed fish don -hanhanmoomani korean restaurant in central nago, sosososos good and most friendly staff! -inno coffee shop -nago municipal market (grocery store and a delicious sweets store beside it) -ryujin shrine(osehara ryujin on google maps): stray cats supported by people and organizations in nago, hermit crabs with a shell shrine, the most peaceful a mystical area -hubcycle okinawa (bike rental, contact them because they say closed wednesday but they are actually open )

    the rooms actually have ocean view, the access to beaches and the town is great and recommendation for food places is very good. it is 4 minutes away from the airport shuttle bus! there is no staff at this hotel but they put towels fully equipped for length of our stay. there is a washing machine and dryer.

    Luxury resort with a great beach and beautiful views combined with many (many!) eating options. The hotel is remote enough that during off-peak it can be a wonderful escape from the busy tourist areas while still getting to enjoy the island through the many activities offered within the resort.
