Of all the places my girlfriend and I stayed in Japan in three weeks, this was the most memorable. It was a beautiful classic japanese home, but what put this over the top was the italian chef/house manager that cooked us dinner that night. I had no idea we would be eating Michelin Star quality food, but we did. It was one of the coolest evenings of my life as an adventurer

Minshuku Wago is truly an exceptional place! The owner is incredibly kind, and the hospitality was the best we've experienced. It was a rainy and chilly day, and the owner kindly asked if we would like to use the ofuro, we said yes, and the owner prepared everything perfectly for my husband and me. The room was spacious and clean, and we appreciated having access to laundry. They also provided three delicious meals, including a bento for our Kumano Kodo hike. We felt so well taken care of. highly recommended!

The property is located very close to the bus stop 柿平 and the largest supermarket in the area. The host/helper was very friendly. He let us check in one hour before the check in time. He prepared the dinner and breakfast. The food was incredibly delicious and tasty. The Japanese style bedroom is spacious.

The location for the Kumano Kodo is great - right next to a grocery store. Be aware you will be cooking for yourself but they provide everything you need for pizza and to grill, we had a great time :)

It's very tidy and comfortable. Despite being a dorm, one could have his private box with bed, night table, and locker. I really appreciated the bento box for dinner and lunch box for the day after.

Not only is the place nice, but the hospitality is beyond expectation! Even though the house is a bit far from the village center, but the Obā-san offers pickup for free. She even drove us to the Onsen and to the trail we are aiming to go after checking out. Dinner and breakfast options are also available here, and it was delicious. She thoughtfully explains each dish, and even adjusted the ingredients to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. Highly recommended! 😁
