This place is amazing. Great location in Onomichi on the covered mall. It is spotless and serene inside. The rooms were very large and cool. Nice bar on the roof. The breakfast voucher was perfect and very close by.

I loved every single thing about this accommodation. The room was extremely clean and comfy at the same time. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, yet there was much to explore within walking distance. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. I recommend to rent a bike and cycle around the island!

This place was an exceptional stay. It exceeded all of our expectations, from the incredible staff, the very nice amenities, the high quality meals, the beautifully decorated rooms, the spacious Onsen with hilltop view, the rooftop bar that you could relax on all night, and the breathtaking views. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Onomichi. It is less than a ten-minute walk to Senkoji Temple. To get to the bottom of the hill where the Onomichi train station is takes around 15 minutes or so, and it is a magical walk up and down this hill, especially at night.

The location has good biking distance to other islands and ferry stops. The interior has a clean and sleek look with good bathroom toilets and showers. The kitchen space has enough cooking options to make our own meals. As for the studio bed itself, has enough bed options to allow me and my friend to sleep decent.

    Onomichi is a picturesque and walkable city with lots of charm. You can stroll the vintage shotegai, visit the art museum, enjoy a snack at Onomichi U2, take a temple walk, ride the ropeway, and of course, biking the Shimanami Kaido. The people are friendly and the food and shopping are great.

    Because I got in late from doing the big bike ride over from...

    Because I got in late from doing the big bike ride over from Imabari, I was left with little time or energy to explore Onomichi. However, I did do some of the temple tour in the morning and it was excellent. I recommend taking the "ropeway" (I'd call it a cable car) to the hilltop and work your way down. I'd love to come back and explore more of this interesting little town.

    If your visiting Onomichi for bike riding , it has everything you need . It’s also has great walks , shopping ,places to eat and the walk along the waterfront and boardwalk is wonderful. Enjoy a meal or a drink . Catch the ferry to the islands and explore on foot or bike.

    Onomichi was a quiet town with lots of small alleys to explore. One full day should be enough to get a taste of the location for younger travelers. But two days at the town should also be good if you would like to take your time or if there are elderly in the group.

    Such a beautiful little town with really friendly residents who genuinely welcome and enjoy travellers. Lots to do in the day, a bit quite at night though so don’t rely on there being restaurants open for dinner. I loved Onomichi. I only spent one day and one night there before beginning the Shimanami Kaido cycle, but I wish I’d stayed and relaxed a bit more is this wonderful town. The temple walk was worth the views, cat alley was unique and worth seeing, I loved just grabbing a coffee or pastry and sitting on the pier to enjoy the view.

    Expect lot's of walking.

    Expect lot's of walking. There is something to see around every corner - or up every hill. Weather permitting it is a must. Not sure it would be much fun in the rain, unless you love shopping and eating sushi :-)

    Love this hotel! Just less than 5mins walk from Onomichi Station in a beautiful location. The clean, spacious room as well as room/bathroom amenities are perfect. I love the PJs provided! You can opt-out of room cleaning ( I did because it was just a 2 nights stay ), but you can request for daily complimentary bottled water as well as other amenities from the reception. The staff of Sakura Hotel are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

    The hospitality of the family who owns the place was truly heartwarming. The hotel has a charming 1970s vibe, as if time has stood still, offering a wonderfully nostalgic experience. It felt like stepping into an old Japanese film. Before my stay, I fell ill after eating some seafood, but the kind lady at the hotel restaurant kindly prepared a special rice porridge for me, which was incredibly thoughtful.

    super cool part of the island. we broke up our bicycle trip from Onomichi to Imabari. the buildings are a mix of new and old ( the coffee roasting house is about 140 years old ) the restaurant has a fusion of western and japanese and was a pleasure left after breakfast feeling refreshed and strong for the second part of our ride
