The staff at Win Village Sasebo was so incredibly kind and helpful! It was super easy to communicate with them—they really listened to every single request we had with a genuine willingness to assist, which made our whole experience feel effortless. A huge highlight was definitely the private onsen and BBQ facilities, which were set up perfectly just for us. The onsen session was so peaceful and beautifully prepared, offering a truly private escape. The BBQ area was also meticulously set up, making it a comfy and relaxing spot. We’d absolutely recommend this place! The staff’s unwavering support really made our visit unforgettable.

The breakfast buffet was superb and had probably 20-30 items to choose from plus eggs made to order and the Sasebo special lemon steak. The rooms are small but tidy, clean, and efficient. I travel to Sasebo frequently for work and plan to stay at Sunwest each time.

Spectacular location with view over the whole bay of Sasebo and the Kujukujima archipelago. Truly beautiful The room was very nice, cosy, and clean. There was free mango and orange juice available in the lobby. There’s an outdoor pool on a terrace. The hotel was almost fully booked with many families with little kids. But despite this everyone was very considerate and the kids well behaved and quiet.

    Really great seaside town with a large American influence due to the military base in town. The food was great and the night scene lovely as well, though I wish I had more time to visit the Bio Park - will plan to go next time! Haus Ten Bosch was a really unique experience and I'm glad I went!

    Sasebo is a good staging point for Catholic pilgrimage trips. We went to Hirado, Ikitsuki, and Kuroshima from here. The ferry options to the Goto Archipelago are limited here; Would try to go from Nagasaki if given the chance again. Sasebo is very westernized and their specialty dishes are steak and hamburgers. There are shopping arcades you can go and visit.

    Sasebo is a hidden gem, perfect for those who enjoy a quieter lifestyle and want to avoid the crowds of more tourist-heavy destinations in Japan. With its laid-back vibe and scenic spots like Huis Ten Bosch, the Sea Aquarium, and the stunning Kujukushima (99 Islands), it offers a peaceful retreat without sacrificing things to see and do. The city also boasts delicious food, including Michelin-starred Champon at the train station and famous local burgers. Sasebo, as the base of the US Army, offers a unique mix of cultural and culinary experiences, making it a great choice for a slower-paced, yet rewarding, getaway. That said, I wish there were more quality hotels in Sasebo, as the available apartment and Airbnb options are quite limited and overpriced.

    Sasebo is literally the best place on earth. No joke or hyperbole. The people are warm, the nature is beautiful, the food is great, there are loads of things to do, and it's a calm peaceful haven in a world that usually isn't.

    I live in Sasebo, been here for years, and I love it! It's a perfect balance between the city and the countryside, with everything you need, and all the wonderful sights to see, especially Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan's biggest theme parks. If you want a break from the big city and want to experience a smaller but very beautiful and diverse place, head to Sasebo.

    After staying in hostels most of the time, this was a welcome treat. Very comfortable beds. Lovely view from the room. There were lovely goodies for a luxurious bath and comfi pyjamas. The hotel is quite a distance from the park entrance but I booked a transfer for the morning which came right on time and was included in the price. You can also drop your bag at the entrance of the park, which will be taken to your hotel so you can enjoy the park without your luggage. Very well organised.

    Very excellent and grand 5-star hotel right beside Huis Ten Bosch with direct cruiser to Park for hotel guests. Even better than the hotels inside the Park in terms of the hotel location, outlook, room size, etc. Warm response to my enquiries soon after my booking. Free upgrade to a very nice park view room upon check-in which was unexpected. Outstanding and very customer-oriented in every aspect. Highly recommended.

    Surprised to stay in a Japanese style room, which is very good design, clean and tidy. All the decoration is like a home. Enjoy the two nights staying there. The owner is super friendly, welcoming, cheerful and considerate. Regret that we didn’t have time to have the breakfast there, believe the food would be delicious and would be so enjoyable to have a meal in this well decorated room.
