ALL close to the airport, so it was an ideal choice for the night after a long flight, perfectly clean and quiet, the room has everything you need, modern appliances, smells nice, breakfast was a buffet with a lot of choice, the dishes were very tasty. I was really able to relax and recharge in this place, it seemed to surround me with care and comfort!! I'll definitely come back again

We booked the large family room for our family of five: two parents and children aged 9, 7, and 3. The room was spacious and had a very pleasant dining/kitchen area, where we started our days with a meal together, and where we sat down in the evenings before going to bed. The bathroom was very clean and the kids loved taking baths in the Japanese-style bathtub. If you travel with children you'll know that kids can't eat out 3 times a day, and they need some time to decompress in private, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist activities. The spacious room really helped us in this regard. MIMARU is a great place to stay when visiting Tokyo -- the Kinshicho JR station is a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and there are many restaurants and shops in the vicinity (including a 24/7 SEIYU supermarket). The staff were super helpful and very accommodating.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Friendliness and helpfulness of people. Trains were amazing. Parks and shrines busy but somehow peaceful. Loved Yoyogi park. The Tokyp tower is good but the crepe place at its base is great. Didnt get to eat either of Ramen or Yakitori. Saving this for next time

Japan was amazing!

Japan was amazing! My recommendation for Tokyo specifically---spend a total of 4 nights in Tokyo--two coming in and two going out. (Shipping your bags between hotels is easier with a minimum 2-day stay.) Prioritize the rest of the time in other cities in Japan. We liked some things we did in Tokyo, but all of them are accessible and less crowded elsewhere in Japan. Top recommended place to visit would be the Kabuki-za theatre in Ginza to see the program of the month.

As a solo traveller I must say Tokyo is a great place to visit from all the historic shrines to the towers to the interactive museums – I went for 5 nights in Tokyo Alone for me this was enough but for others who may want to visit Osaka and Kyoto a minimum of 10 days would be great. In terms of food and shopping Tokyo is a great hub with an immense variety of places to eat every corner you go, and every food place was amazing – for those that can only eat halal, vegan/vegetarian there is a lot of food options there as well so don’t be discouraged. I stayed in Apa Hotel Ueno situated in a great area for convenience with lot of local shops around – 7/11 was close an easy 2-minute walk and Akihabara (for Anime/manga fans) and Don Quijote is a 15-minute walk. For those landing in Narita, you can take the Skyliner to Ueno station and from there it is a 10-minute walk to the hotel. the Hotel is also a 5-to-10-minute walk from different stations, and you can easily get access to trains that go straight to places like Ginza, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Also, for those that are wanting to go on a day trip to mount Fuji check the weather as the mountain is always not visible – I went and after 12pm was no longer able to see Fuji.

I would recommend giving yourself a full week to explore Tokyo. There are so many things to see and explore. Also, if you have any hobbies, you will more than likely be able to find a store that caters to it. Take some time to go to those places. For example, I love sewing and was glad I got to explore Nippori Fabric Town.

The staff were very kind, caring and helpful. Communication was easy here. My husband and I caught the limousine bus from Haneda airport. A very convenient service. The hotel is also not far from Ikebukuro metro and JR. Stations, also the Hop on hop off bus. The choice of food was exceptional and serious attention paid to food safety. The bed was also exceptionally comfortable. There is a large window with lovely view and bonus small section to open to let in fresh breeze.
