The view from the room balcony was beautiful. Facilities were newly built and very clean. Private hot spring bath was big and comfy. Owners were very nice making us feel very welcomed.

I absolutely love everything here! The villa is beautiful, stylish, and has such a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a quiet getaway. The owner, uncle and aunty were incredibly warm welcoming and took great care of us throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed talking with them and felt so happy and comfortable. The food for every dinner and breakfast is an absolute masterpiece of culinary art and design! Chef Tashi Gyamtso, I think it is fair to say, is one of Asia’s most brilliant chefs in the farm-to table movement. Dinner will last for hours but you will never be bored. Each course is thoughtfully presented with amazing attention to detail and perfect service from kind and attentive staff. The focus is on healthy local vegetables and fruits from their own farm and the region, and Oita’s best local fresh fish and seafoods. The property is an outstanding example of contemporary architecture and design set in nature with every detail that you could imagine perfectly coordinated.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious and it’s perfect for family with children. We stayed in Tsubaki room at the first floor so it was very easy for us to move around to the public bath as well as to load our luggages in the car, which is parked right in front of the main entrance. The location is near to the center of Yufuin tourist attractions, and is easily accessible if you’re driving. (You’ll need to sort of walk up the slope if you’re not driving.) Overall we are very happy with our stay here! ❤️❤️❤️

I love every bit of this place. It truly exceeds my expectations. Room is spacious, well equipped, modern and clean. Having a cafe downstairs is a plus as you would get the pleasant smell of coffee every time you walk in and out ^_^. Location is superb with a short distance from the station. Regret not having time to enjoy the cool onsen experience there. Highly recommend.

    Morning walk along the waterway when there were not many tourists was peaceful and enjoyable. The are lots of small shops on the main street, but might be too crowded to enjoy. The shops close around 5pm. My favorite eating place was Pizzeria Kunugi no Oka; good food and good view of the Yufu city.

    We went to Yufuin and Beppu, Yufuin by the touristy train (...

    We went to Yufuin and Beppu, Yufuin by the touristy train (book a month earlier and reserve your seats!), then we took the bus from Yufuin to Beppu and did the onsen tours on our own by bus. Not much to do in Beppu other than the onsens, perhaps go to other nearby places too.

    Excellent location.

    Excellent location. Not far from Fukuoka and we drive all the way from the airport within 2 hours. Best retreat so far and we will definitely go back in different seasons. Driving to places are simple and easy. Can go to mountain hike or the lake areas.

    A very lovely town.

    A very lovely town. But too many tourists during the weekend. Too many Korean tourists, which quite some of them are lack of manners, speaking too too loudly, taking pictures everywhere, dominating the roads while walking with groups...

    Yufu is one of those places where the place itself is...

    Yufu is one of those places where the place itself is wonderful but the vibe from other tourists and angry, upset staff members in shops can really darken an otherwise bright experience. It reminded me a lot of Kyoto in that way. The place, the shops, the scenery are all great... but tourists tend to be pushy, demanding, selfish, etc. And this leads many of the staff of establishments to be cold, distant, or upset; and rightfully so. I would like to go back there and spend more time at one of the inns. The staff there are usually very kind and helpful, and the spaces are very comfortable. But the place itself I could take a pass on.

    This hoteI is new and very clean. The owner of the hotel is a very nice and very helpful. I can see the beatiful view of the mountain from the window of the hotel. The private onsen is very impressive. I got lost because my GPS doesn't work and I got there late at night. Fortunately, I brought the phone number and the name of the hotel in Japanese. The owner is so nice to come to pick me up and take me to the hotel safely.

    About 20mins walk from Yufuin station to the hotel, staff was kind to give us a lift to the station on the day we check out. Private Onsen was good, did not get a chance to try the public onsen as we do not have enough time. One of the lady staff was friendly and walked us out to the nearby Lake Kinrin. Family room is big for a family of 4.
