The young women working here in the front desk roles and kitchen are fabulous! Helpful, honest and hard working, they were a pleasure to deal with. Moloppor sits on the outskirts of the town centre but it's a quick tuk tuk ride to get back and worth the nicer location. We'll set out rooms with a lovely pool and restaurant. The meals in the restaurant were huge, great value, plenty of breakfast food to start the day. Bed was comfy and room and bathroom well set out.

Dream Bungalows is a sight to see of its own, the family built the bamboo villas by themselves by hand. They gave us a great tour, biking, to Banan and rice making facilities. there is still more to see and relaxing to do!
There is so much to do here! Lots of opportunities for adventure in the countryside. There is a good mix of cultural and nature-based activities. And the food is so good! Our favourite experiences were: walking through the central market, exploring Banan Mountain and Phnom Sampov (great views from the top!!), watching the bats fly out of the cave at sunset, riding both of the bamboo trains (the original one in the city and the more touristy one at Banan were both great), Aek Phnom, and trying so many street foods. The street food seemed more fresh and better quality here than in Phnom Penh. The city is easy to walk around, but for exploring the temples and mountains I would recommend renting a moto.
I enjoyed exploring Battambang. Great riverside and little streets. Good choice of eating places( with veggie options) Bamboo train is a must...I was the only customer during this COVID time. The area has a sad Khmer Rouge history - the Peace Gallery ( some distance out of town) is worth a visit. Also local hilltop mountain, and the bat caves. Plenty to do and see.
Lovely place with tons of fresh fruits. Lots of coconuts - it's a haven for fresh fruits and coconuts. The Baha'i Temple. which is located out of the city, is a must-visit. Unfortunately, there is a big lack of sanitization, I guess in overall Cambodia. Garbage is everywhere - really sad; especially in these times of the Coronavirus world pandemic.
The old bamboo train and bat cave were great. Found a place to eat called Classic which was lively and cheap. Eden also nice for lunch. Best by far was Soksabike - Mony taught us Basic Cambodian which has helped us connect with locals ever since and the bike tour was perfect despite 40 degree heat!
Getting around Battambang was easy, I rented a motorbike ($7/day) and went around to Ek Phnom, Wat Samrong (Killing Field), and Baset Temple in one afternoon. On the 2nd day, I went to Bamboo Train Station, Banan Mountain and Temple, and Sampov Mountain. After I came back down, the Bats Cave of Sampov Mountain was a beautiful sightseeing in the evening around 5:30 pm. The Bamboo Train ride was also fun. Other than that, the town was small but there were variety of food. What I like most about the trip was the beautiful scenery of those spots I visited and the cheap eats.
Battambang
This hotel was a true hidden gem. If you are looking to switch off and relax its truly a blissful experience. Staff super friendly. The cocktails are amazing and miss them already. We ate all our meals here as the food was incredible and so fresh. Hotel arranged for tuk tuk driver to take us to bamboo train, killing caves and he was awesome. Spoke great English and very informative and only $15. We will 100% return to this hotel, even though it seems remote is really is not far away from everything. It really does feel like a relaxing retreat hotel. Really can't fault this hotel at all, just wished we had been able to stay longer than 2 nights.

Battambang
We really liked our stay in this hostel. The common area was outstanding spacious, the pool was clean and private. Bathrooms were very clean. Breakfast was included and really delicious and comes with a bottle of water. The staff was very helpful and organised a shared taxi to the thai border for 8$ which is cheaper than everytging else we found.
At night, that's when the food vendor come out. I love the Street Stir-Fried Noodles, we always get it from a lady that wears glasses with her cart on the edge of the side walk. Her meal prep is pretty sanitary. I recommend her if you want to try street food.
