We only stayed in our resort, as there was nothing else really available except to take other, rather expensive, trips around the island by boat. The road out was a real dirt track and mostly impassable. However, being required to stay on our "private" beach was no hardship, as the experience was quiet, safe, friendly and relaxing.
Carefully build your journey. Always have a margin of time. Our ferry was late for 40 minutes. Due to the unrest at sea, you may be taken from the island not to Serendipity Pier, but to the cargo port. You will only find out about this upon arrival. I had to spend extra time and money to get to our bus.
Gorgeous beaches, visited 4K, Long Beach and Sok San. Had to walk for an hour on Long Beach before finding a beer!! Fun scooter ride there but would recommend getting them to take you further to Sok San. The island is quiet at the moment apparently but you can still here the party at Police Beach! Worth braving Sihanoukville for the 45 minute ferry journey for white sands and turquoise seas.
Beautiful island. A little bit poor of services. Not really a reef where to see snorkling corals and fish. One little island, in front the main dock of the Koh Rong, is available for snorkling, and in 2-3 meters of water you can see some (some) corals and little fishs. Choose well the location, since some part of the island are crowdy of tourists.
Beautiful sea views, some quiet spots on the island but hard to reach. A bit chaotic, government officer has not visited the island for more than 1/2 year, so no rules respected by anyone. Locals as well as visitors use forest and sea as waste container...
Koh Rong Samloem is the littler island and absolutely magical. Koh Rong is the main island and is fun and if you are looking for a party it is perfect. We definitely suggest taking a long tail to the other side where the beaches are quiet, long and magnificent. Lots of cute bungalows to stay and restaurants with amazing food.
Koh Rong Island
My husband and I went to Long Set for our 11 year anniversary. We were welcomed with a lovely flower arrangement on the bed (must have taken someone quite a while!), a bottle of bubbles and a fruit platter. The staff were very efficient and helpful, explaining everything clearly and showing us to our room. The room was a reasonable size with a very large comfortable bed and descent shower. The WiFi was a little average during times when a lot of people were around but this is to be expected. The beach area was very comfortable with nice loungers and towels provided. If you are there in a busy time make sure you put a towel on a lounger early to avoid missing out. The pool area is nice, maybe a little much chlorine for my liking but it was very clean and well maintained. The gym is adequate with a treadmill, elliptical and free weights. The restaurant is in a lovely location right on the beach, prices are slightly more than you can find in Asia but not expensive. Breakfast buffet includes eggs, omelettes, salad bar, noodle bar, fresh fruit, bread and different cooked items each day (rice, bacon, sausages, pancakes, french toast) juice and coffee. We also had lunch at the restaurant - the food was good but a little bland for us (but we really love spicy asian food) - they also had a few vegetarian options which were great. Large drinks list with cocktails and beer. If you are catching a ferry from the mainland direct to Long Set its typically the 2nd stop - be aware that they don't always say Long Set! If you end up at the main port you can ask at Demasties Bar to call Long Set and they will come and get you in their boat. The main port is small but busy, lots of great little restaurants and an easy 40 minute walk from Long Set.
Koh Rong Island
It’s a unique property located on the beautiful island of Cambodia. The sand is white, the sea water is clear and clean. This property is located on the private island and has its own private beach, private restaurant and many private facilities and services. I can say it’s a paradise on earth. The staffs and top management there are very kind and helpful. Their place made our anniversary unforgettable and memorable. Strongly recommended!
Koh Rong Island
Very good location. Only 7 min. walk to main village with stores, restaurants, bars and ferry terminal. Bungalows are 100 m from the beach on the hill in the forest. Very nice and quiet area. In the room 2 comfortable double beds, big terrace with chairs and amazing sunrise view. Even there are hot climate, hot water in bungalow is really good option.

Koh Rong Island
Beautiful rooms and location. Pool was lovely as was the convenience of the bar. Rooms were large with a great bathroom. Food was pretty good albeit a little more expensive than the main beach but the views alone are worth it with the restaurant overlooking the water. Cleaned every day and staff were only too willing to help.
