A must visit. The city of gold should definitely be on your list of things to do in South Korea. I would plan to stay a night or two. There is so much to see and do, and even more importantly, to learn! Gyeongju is known for being the capital of the Silla kingdom. It forms a unique and interesting part of Korean history, and it is beautifully presented through the wide array of points of interest tourists can visit to learn more about it.
The historic center of the town is simply great, the hotel was a scam. The amusement park area were the hotel is located looks like it was never updated or maintained. Dangerous to some points. If needed stay near the historical center stay away from the tourist trap in an outdated Disney want a be place that was on stand still for the 20 last years.
Gyeongju is a good 1 to 3 day trip to make while visiting South Korea. Most attractions are within walkable distance or within 30 mins bus rides. There are certain attractions that will required revisit during the night to have a different experience like the Woljeong Bridge, etc. Travel during the cherry blossom period is excellent and cooling, the view is great especially at Bomun Lake region. The fish soup from 경상도추어탕 Gyeongsangdo Chueotang is great and the dumpling from 대화만두 is pretty good. The food alley has a lot of nice cafe and shop that sell a lot of different nice snacks like the 10 won coin cheese bread. It is both easy and hard to get around Gyeongju, while Gyeongju has pretty good bus network but the frequency of certain buses can be long and it is hard to find their local bus schedule as a foreign tourist online.
Best tourist city in Korea. Plenty of history to see, with more being discovered, studied, and restored every year. Right next to a hip, rising neighbourhood with plenty of great restaurants and cafes. Great amusement park as well.
Gyeongju is literally a museum without walls - rich in Korean history - from the tombs, temples, architecture through to the Wolji pond. It is a delight in the day and an even bigger treat at night. You can see all it has to offer in 2-3 days and it's best to go by taxi to save time between the different sites. If you want some great food and traditional rice wine head to dongli!
2 days 1 night was enough to visit all tourist spot in gyeongju. This city is very underrated for foreigner. if you want to find sort of like healing place, gyeongju might be one of the best destination
Gyeongju
The location. It is close from main attraction in Gyeongju such as Hwangnidan-gil and Daereungwon. I also really love the blanket. It is so soft and smooth that makes me want to keep bundled up. The bed and pillow also really comfortable and clean. I also like the fact they provide the small night lamp & charging port near the bed. Amenities quite complete. They provide tooth paste but no tooth brush. Enough roll tissue and towels + a lot of clothes hanger.
Gyeongju
The location was great, as very close to the intercity and express bus station where you arrive and leave, as well as bus 10 and 11 to visit. The room was ok and clean, including big bath. they cleaned as well after one night. breakfast is included, and you can cook it with toasts, eggs and cereals. staff is very friendly. they also provided clear instructions to reach the hotel from the bus station.
Great location right next to the main bus terminal and located about 20 mins from the KTX train station via taxi. Fairly easy walking distance to the main historical sites in Gyeongju. Buffet breakfast selection was limited but was delicious nonetheless. Staff spoke limited English but were still able to assist with the help of google translate.
Excellent hotel, the most comfortable bed I slept in during my entire 3 weeks travelling around South Korea. Large room, super modern bathroom, extremely clean and very poluite staff. Great location - would definitely stay again
