Seoul is an amazing city that mixes the old (north of the Han) and the new (south of the Han).
We managed to visit a lot of places of our interest including museums, palaces, shopping malls and even Lotte World (amusement park).
There is so much to see and do. Taxis (based on 4 travelling) are cheap and a good option to go from places that are far from each other - don't underestimate the time it takes to get from one place to another.
Probably the only consideration is that there are a lot of stairs (including underpasses) and not always lifts so this may affect people with reduced mobility.

We did a quick trip from Japan to Seoul (3 full days) since it was only a 2 1/2 hour flight, why not :) Wish we had more time in Seoul to explore so plan your days according to area/location. Most "to do" are scattered all over Seoul so you will need at least a day in each area/location like Myeondong, Itaewon, Bukchon, Cheonggyecheon to name a few. Each area will take you about 30 minutes by train depending on your home base hotel. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes....Get ready for walking, steps, trains and maybe taxis. For the 3 days we visited the Lotte World area, Coex Aquarium, Starfield Coex Library, N. Seoul Tower, Banpo bridge at night for the rainbow water lights, Gwangjang market for local Korean food stalls, Myeondong shopping district, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and some underground train shopping areas. Food experience anywhere but our favorite was Lotte Department store food level in Myeondong. You MUST visit Olive Young for Korean skin care. WISH we had MORE time but will return.

I thought it might be difficult because I don't speak Korean, but everyone I met was kind and helpful, I they did not speak English they went out of their way to find me someone who did. I saw a lot and really enjoyed the trips I went on and the street markets and just the differences from home. I found the found fresh and healthy.

Wasn’t expecting to feel so relaxed in a city of 10 and a half million people but felt very relaxed
, the transport system is great and cost to eat out is good. I am definitely going back and plan visiting more cities as spent majority of time in Seoul with a couple of days in Busan. Only negatives are the smell of sewage at times and impossible to buy good flat white coffee.

Seoul is a foodie place.
Seoul is a foodie place. Some Michelin restaurants and the street food is great. We especially liked staying in the Insadong area which was centrally located, walkable to most places. And we enjoyed the international restaurants in the nearby Iksun area.
The metro directions were easy to follow on the Naver app, but the walking directions a bit more challenging. Navigating where to catch the buses was harder too.
We took a taxi to Seoul Station and had planned to catch the express train to Incheon airport. But when we tried to purchase our tickets for the train, the earlier trains were sold out. We didn't want to chance getting to the airport late, so we took a taxi from Seoul Station to the airport. Next time, we'll just take a taxi from our hotel.

Amazing City!
Amazing City! The food, the people, the views, the architecture, the cafe culture, the cleanliness, there are public bathrooms every few seconds away AND CLEAN, the street food, EVERYTHING is beautiful!! It is extremely easy to get around Seoul with your T-money card, the tube and buses (if you dare taking them!) are super efficient and pretty straightforward to read and understand.
It is still good to always have some cash at hand, to recharge your T-money card or in some places where there's a minimum card spending requirement.
I would avoid choosing other destinations and choose Korea instead :)
The room is comfortable, clean, and complete. I love that this is a Japanese style hotel with separate toilet and bath. The toilet has bidet. Even the toilet in the reception area also has bidet. Pajama is also provided and also humidifier. Amenities are excellent. Location is superb, easy to get bus, taxi, very close to Namdaemun market and within walking distance to Myeongdong (15-20 minutes). Subway is around 10 minutes walk. The staff speaks good English, Japanese, and Korean.
Great price, easy to transfer from-to airport with airport limousine bus, you may pasy by cash to the driver. Complete facilities you need to stay in Seoul, it's a bit small but compact as you may expected the comparable hotels in Seoul. The rules are clear. Near convenient store. The staff speaks good English. Dont forget to askm for the Korean text of the hotel's name and address, the taxi driver may not undersyand the latin text. Many thanks, we have a wonderful stay.
Conveniently located in the middle of Myeongdong and walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the subway station. Our stay was fantastic, and the staff was very accommodating (helping us a ton as we spoke very little Korean). We reserved a spa treatment which I would definitely recommend. The beds were very comfortable and helped to get over jet lag quickly. Clean & quiet rooms and overall 10 out of 10 hotel, will stay there again the next time we’re in Korea
Conveniently located in myeongdong. Limo Bus stops right across the hotel coming from Incheon airport. Daiso is 5 mins walk from hotel. Plenty of cafes around the proximity. You will be on the myeongdong station. Seoul station is nearby. Dongdaemun metro is 3 stops away for your city wall section snap away. Gwangjang wholesale market is about 7 bus stops away, quickest to get to. Easily one of the best accommodation you can find.
We were pleasantly surprised at how large the rooms at Hotel Amare were. The location is very convenient and sits in between all the major sightseeing/shopping areas like Ikseon-dong, Myeongdong, Gwang Jang Market, Hongdae and Gangnam. The hotel customer service was absolutely wonderful and they were very kind, helping us with our laundry needs, extra towels and organising a taxi to the airport early in the morning.
Bunk Guesthouse is really the place to live in Hongdae. Even on my 5 weeks trip in South Korea I can say that Bunk was by far one of the best Guesthouse I could stay in. The owner Brian makes you feel very welcome and I feel very sorry that I left without saying goodbye to him because I had to leave quite early :(. Nevertheless, this is going to be the place I will stay again when coming back next year!
The furnishings are as opulent as it looks when booking.. Location is fantastic with short walk to lots of different eating establishments.. Hotel is right next to metro station however can walk into central Seoul in about 10-15 mins.. Room was dpotlessly clean asi have come to expect in Korea.. Will be visiting Seoul again in August 2024 and have already rebooked to stay at L'Escape..
This is our first time to Seoul, Korea. We are glad that we chose the right hotel to stay. Koreana hotel is very strategically located and everything just a walking distant. We love the ambient of the hotel. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They helped us to book our ride back to the airport. We will definitely be staying in Koreana Hotel during all our future trips to Korea.
The location of the hotel is convenient if you want to stay in Gangnam area. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes around, and close to different transportations to get to other areas in the neighbourhood and around the city. The room was clean and bright. The room was cleaned every day and bathrobe is provided. Amenities and water is provided every day. The bed was huge.
It is the third time for me in ORAKAI Insadong Suites , I feel comfortable to stay here ,, they have a lovely and helpful staff ( security guys, reception staff , clean’s lady and administration)
They have clean suites , the location of the Orakai is near to attractions place , bazar and metro stations, whenever I will visit south Korea . for sure I will stay here ,,,
We had a family room for 4 people on this reservation. The room is very spacious with a huge bathroom with a big walk in shower and bath tub. No connecting room.
The hotel is on the metro/subway line 4 (blue) right off exit 3.
From the airport, you can take the AREX train, taxi or limousine bus.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Went to korea for our honeymoon and the Intercontinental made it our special time feel even more special. The service in this hotel is top notch and we felt very well taken care off. I will definitely stay again the next time on back to korea, it's the best 5 star hotel me and my husband have stayed at so far in terms of service and care.
1) I think this hotel has the most convenient location to stay which is near the KTX train and local subway station. 2) The area has a lot of nice cafes and restaurants.3) The reception staff is very kind! 4) excellent taxi service to the airport, which is very convenient if you have a lot of luggage. 5) Our room had a nice city view.
I loved this hotel and the suite was amazing.
Extremely spacious, clean with great facilities. There was a lovely view and very close to a train station and huge shopping centre. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. A definite place I would stay again when back in South Korea!
Modality of the hotel, rooms, breakfast which appeared to be a balanced combination of European and Korean styles. Location is also fine - at reasonable distance both from the Central station (for the best way to reach we recommend to use taxi and not metro for the first time) and local attactions.
Great central location to hop on trains and buses and walk various places. Nice staff. Airport limo stop basically out front. Nice room and bathroom (private with door, unlike some Korean hotels). Overall good value.
The hotel stuff was very helpful for everything I ask. I am first time in South Korea and didn’t know where to go. Hotel stuff helped me a lot during my stay at Lavita hotel. Highly recommend this place.
The staff are so lovely! the location is excellent, right next to the station + Myeongdong street and so many attractions! If I ever come back to Korea I’m booking this hotel again for sure!
It's close to the walking street of Myeongdong and the airport bus express station is only a few step away. Subway is just below the hotel and its so convenient to stay at Sejong
