The city itself is inattractive: nothing to explore except for ethnic park - the best ethnopark in RoK. But the nature around city is worth of seeing. Just after you leave (north side), you are in beautiful mountains full of flowers and butterflies (butterflies in the forest instead of mosquitos is the first time I've seen in my life)... Buuuut, nearby resorts are in pathetic state: no maintenance, poor service level.
Heavily polluted with smoke from coal fires and industry. You have to stay indoors mostly and night time is very bad you will end up with a dry and sore throat. When I left yesterday it was -31 and seriously that is a health hazzard if nit dressed appropriately
I really, really wanted to love this little hotel. The staff are soooooo sweet, friendly, and pleasant, even though I couldn't communicate with them since they were Russian speakers (I'm an English and Kazakh speaker). The pool was very nice (it's deep, so not for kids), and I didn't try the gym but it was accessible. The lockers conveniently held towels and keys. The rooms are pretty nice. The lift works well and is very fast. Free water is provided in the hallways, which is a nice touch.
I came to Usk-Kamenogorsk on my bicycle trip through Kazachstan. I really needed some rest and friendliness. I found it in this hotel.The room is big and comfortable. The bed is just super nice and sleeps really good. The staff is very friendly and their very best to make me feel good and at home. In the city it self there is not much to do or see, but I liked jumping on the tram in front of hotel. The pizza cafe, just 10 minutes walking away, is a nice place for lunch and dinner. And not only for pizza
This hotel is adequate. It's an old soviet type hotel. It was simple, clean and very basic breakfast. There was AC in the room and an old style TV. Towels and sheets were adequate and towels changed each day. Most people working in hotel speak Russian or Kazakh--not English. There is a store that sells drinks, food, and souvenirs next to the hotel that is open 24 hours. .

Location is very centered. Supermarket and restorants are opposite the hotel. Staff was friendly.
Nice and friendly staff. Close to the airport.
