Residence Bassac in Champasak has a garden and a bar. This 4-star hotel features modernized French Colonial architecture, a concierge service and free WiFi. There is a restaurant. Residence Bassac is an incredible, inconspicuous gem, hidden in a most unlikely location. The colonial facade of the building houses a top-quality restaurant ran by great staff, and the beautiful garden behind it features a handful of bungalows and duplex apartments, giving a feeling of privacy and elegance one appreciates. A cup of freshly brewed coffee from a provided French press, enjoyed while sitting on a balcony sofa, will set the mood for an unforgettable day and the manager, who anticipates your every wish will truly make you feel welcome.

Located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, La Folie Lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Mekong River. Unique place. Located in a traditional community on an island in the Mekong river. The Only hotel. Biking around on the paths between the villages was s lovely experience, Warm greetings from the villager and a fantastic way of getting a glimpse of rural life. Still returning to western comforts. Lovely gsrden, view and pool. Fantastic service I have rarely been treated so well in any of my 2000+ hotel nights. Lots of thanks to Aloum and the whole team!
The River Resort is 8 km from the World Heritage site of Wat Phou. It offers stylish air-conditioned rooms with a private balcony and free Wi-Fi. Amazing stay in the most wonderful place with extraordinary service. On our way to south Laos we chose for one night of luxury at River resort. And believe me it was hard to say goodbye to this place. Because we were here in low season we got an upgrade to a room with River view upon arrival. Very clean, big villa’s with an amazing view on the Mekong. We took a trip to Wat Phou (A must see in Champassak) only 8 kilometres from the resort. The domain of River resort is really beautiful and in the morning we could watch the waterbuffalo’s graze. Lovely breakfast with endless choices and healthy options and nice coffee (hard to find in Laos). I would recommend everyone to stay here when you’re in Champassak. And also a special mention for the staff who was super friendly and professional.
Nakorn River View features free WiFi and views of river in Champasak. Boasting a tour desk, this property also has a restaurant and a children's playground. Guests can make use of a bar. Brandnew spacious and clean, with a beautiful bathroom and an incredible view over the Mekong river
With a private beach area and a garden, Phonephet homestay is located in Champasak and provides free WiFi. American and Asian breakfast options are available each morning at the homestay. The homestay experience was unique - for 36 hours we were the only "Falang" on Don Khamao. We particularly enjoyed a boat trip to Sunset Island, as well as a fishing trip on the Mekong. The food was excellent. Exploring Don Khamao on foot was fun and fascinating - plenty of bamboo, butterflies, and really happy islanders. Mr Phonephet was the perfect host and could not have shown more concern and enthusiasm for our enjoyment and well being. Highly recommend.
Situated right beside Mekong River, Wopakok Guesthouse offers a comfortable and peaceful stay in Ban Houapakho. Everything was great! I really really enjoyed my stay there!!
Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Kingfisher Ecolodge offers accommodation in Ban Kiet Ngong, 60 km from Pakse. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. This is a great lodge in a great spot. Everything lonely planet mentions on quality is true. Great views, beautiful lodges, beautiful restaurant, nice people. Good value for money.
Featuring free WiFi and a garden, NKM Mekong homestay & family dinner offers accommodation situated right beside Mekon River of Pakse, 2.2 km from Phu Salao Golden Buddha. Peaceful, view and talking with the owner and his good advice do I recommend
Overlooking the Mekong River and situated near the Pakse Bridge, this resort features a restaurant and free Wi-Fi in public areas. Air-conditioned rooms come with large windows and private balconies. Everything was just awesome peace and tranquility, staff very pleasant, rooms standards excellent 10/10 excellent and will be returning
Very quiet, small village. Pakse would have been a better starting point for tours (especially Bolavan plateau). Champasak was a little too far from 4000 islands to do in a one day trip, so I would recommend doing a 2 day trip with overnight stay.
Champasak is a great place to stay to visit Wat Phu, better than staying in Pakse and making a day trip. Get to Wat Phu by 8:00 - 8:30 before most other tourists and before it gets too hot. Champasak With Love is a smashing restaurant on the banks of the Mekong. There are 2 ATMs in the centre of the village - just as well as one was out of order when we were there. In between the two is a delightful little cafe run by a couple of young women - it’s popular with local young people.
Wat Phou was an amazing historical site to visit, and for a complete contrast, a visit to Don Daeng (an island in the middle of the Mekong river) gave some idea of how life has been lived in rural Laos for a long time. Many modern temples were easily accessible too. I would recommend hiring a motor scooter to get around, or else there are plenty of touk touks and taxis. The Inthira Hotel (about to be renamed La Perle du Sud) had a good restaurant, and the Homemade Cafe nearby was also good.
Very friendly staff trying to accommodate all your wishes and requests. The frozen food in the restaurant and the claustrophobic space of the resort make it difficult to stay too long, and unfortunately the township is just a little too far to walk. However, there are many trips to be made by boat and car and the owner is very knowledgeable and will organise them for you.
WE stayed at the River Resort Hotel in Champasak Province, (and near Champasek town) in South Western Laos. We loved the River Resort. It was a wonderful place to stay. The resort was great. The food was great. The service was great. From The River Resort, we took several full day trips with a guide to see surrounding natural areas. We also took several half-day trips by ourselves-- without a guide--- and that also worked out very well. We would highly recommend a visit to this part of Laos, and we very highly recommend the River Resort as a place to stay.
The amazing Mekong River with so much history and beauty! Laos may have been a forgotten back water but for the modern world traveler it is a welcome escape from the rest of busy Asia. Enjoy uncrowned temples and waterfalls. Friendly local people and affordable luxury.

The hotel team is very kind and trying their best to help. The room are fantastic and comfortable. Nothing I could compare to in Southern Laos. The restaurant is also excellent. Simple and not over pricy. Don't hesitate to have a drink along the Mekong. Why to go elsewhere? But the best is that they are close to Chez Maman shop. A place not to miss. If you go there don't spend only a night. Take your time.

Relaxing place. Beautiful and clean room, Nice garden setting with the mighty Mekong directly at your feet. Various places to sit, read and relax, lots of privacy but the friendly owners and their team are always around to help you when needed. Or... to serve you with good food and drinks. Bicycles for rent. Highly recommended, I would definitely stay there again if returning to Champasak.

This was such a nice experience, I plan to go back soon to spend more time. If you would like to get away from the super touristy areas and see village life of Laos this is a perfect stop. Friendly people, good food, and communication was easy through WhatsApp.

Very comfy and welcoming place, quietly located at Champasak village with great Mekong view. Jack is a good lad who was very helpful as was the rest of the team. The attached restaurant is delicious.

Very nice staff and perfect location to watch the sunset. Also the bungalows are quite isolated without being far to the main road and restaurants.
