Place is clean, good location, with very good care taker called Ginie! Sharing bathroom wasn't my cup of tea, don't how I ended up here. Elderly people ensure to book room on ground floor as no lift only stairs (not many but)
Loved the beaches, especially Pigeon island, park and local la jambe de bois restaurant, for convenience one of the Vigie beach restaurants in front of the local airport (Booth #2) served very good fresh fish, chicken meals very reasonably priced. We especially appreciated the wonderful St. Lucian people who are so caring throughout our month stay. The highlight of our trip was our every sunday visit to the childrens 10:30 mass at the Castries Catholic cathedral where everyone sang backed up by a very lively and moving reggae beat band, with the priest personal connection to all the children very moving and meaningful. Everyone, religious or not, would appreciate this very uplifting experience! We also enjoyed the friday night Le Gros Islet street party, great music, dancing and fresh fish and seafood - a must thing to attend as well. Local restaurants tend to overcook everything, fish, chicken and meat. Driving around St. Lucia, generally OK even with all the twists and turns especially down to the La souffriere, but after a month it was getting abit tiring.
Very close to the capital and very picturesque, Vigie is a great place to stay if you want to be near enough to St Lucia's beaches, towns and bars, but far enough to allow for your own sense of privacy. It really feels like a get-away.
The staff is superb and the views are fantastic. I opted to rent a car so I could explore the island and a parking spot was provided. On the map it seems close to the airport but never once heard a plane. Nearby you will find Brown Sugar which serves dinner nightly and is definitely worth the short trip. I would definitely stay here again, it can't be beat.
The staff was extra friendly, the rooms were kept very clean and the grounds were nicely maintained. There was constant cleaning of the pool, yards and rooms at all times, but never at an inconvenience. I was disappointed by the fact that Kelly's Dockside Restaurant was closed due to reconstruction. We chose this property in St. Lucia because of this restaurant and its excellent reputation. The menu was offered; however, we missed the experience. It would have been nice to have been informed that this dining experience was not available at the time of booking (or even correspondence via email at a later date). We only booked about 7 weeks in advance, so I feel like we should have been informed. The included activities were nice and convenient. The extra excursions were fun; we especially enjoyed Zip-lining and the Joe Knows tour. Shopping locally at the market was a new experience and one that we enjoyed. The Resort has a nice gift shop as well.
