Walauwa The Villa Ahungalla is located in the peaceful fishing village of Ahungalla on the southern coastline, providing safe and enjoyable accommodation in a tropical location. This is a charming spacious villa designed in old colonial style and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Lots of birds, monkeys and other wildlife, making an excellent background sound. We've also seen a monitor lizard baby and a mongoose. The villa is located in such a way that you do not notice other guests (if there are any). The beds are very comfortable. A good clean shower and toilet. It's a 2 minutes walk from the beach; a 10 min walk from a nice supermarket. The nearest beach is clean, no sea urchins or anything you might not want to step on with your bare feet. Good wifi connection (zoom and skype work all right). Amazing hosts, very friendly and caring; offering a variety of delicious meals (we had breakfasts and dinners), excellent tea. The hosts could offer taxi services. Nearby we recommend turtle hatchery and Madu River safari, we saw lots of animals, it was a wonderful experience. The hosts could also help you with shopping (we really enjoyed riding a tuktuk to buy tea).

Located in Ahungalla, Villa Nilnara features free WiFi. A terrace with sea views is offered in each unit. The daily breakfast offers continental, Asian or vegetarian options. It was at an exceptional location. The chef, Chaminda is a gem. We just loved the food, specially their local Sri Lankan delicacies. The rooms are spacious with all the usual amenities, the decor is minimalistic but tasteful and the staff is very cooperative. Absolutely recommend this place!

The garden is beautiful (all rooms have a terrace with garden view), the atmosphere is very relaxing and the hosts super friendly. Plus: The meals were very delicious, breakfast was included and you can have dinner in a little restaurant which exclusively serves guests and offers a wide variety of different types of food. You can occasionally spot wild animals (monkeys, warans, birds, squirrels) in the site next to the garden, which was also a plus for me, as I like to watch wild animals. The location is perfect, as you can very quickly reach Ahungalla beach, as well as Kosgoda beach (where the sea turtle hatchery is located). The infrastructure is good, you can easily reach a small shop, as well as restaurants to eat outside, if you prefer not to have dinner in the accomodation. It is also possible to use a kitchen, the hosts provided tea and coffee to make on one’s own throughout the day, and it is also possible to use the kitchen to cook your own meal. Overall, I had a marvelous time there, can highly recommend this accomodation and will certainly try to come back here!
