Haputale is a breathtaking hill town surrounded by lush tea estates and misty mountains. We stayed at Benito Bungalow by The Serendipity Collection, where the in-house chef prepared fresh and delicious meals every day. The cool climate, scenic views, and peaceful setting made it the perfect place to unwind. It’s quieter and less touristy than other hill stations, which adds to its charm. A true hidden gem in Sri Lanka!

Most of the activities are outside of main Haputale the hiking is wonderful as was our visit to Lipton's seat and the tour of the tea factory. Main Haputale not really much going on but the hotel was perfect after a long day of hiking.

I spent a month at the Bel View Guest House home stay.
I took the extra option of dinners there. The breakfasts were included in the price.
Great for someone looking for a quiet retreat to relax, that is not hot like the coastal areas.
The hosts will gladly help to refer you to places depending on what you like.
A must visit place in Haputale id the Adisham Bungalow. It is a very old, well manicured, rock monastery at the top of a mountain.
It is run by the St. Benedict monks. They have a little shop that sells the juices, marmalade and jams that they sell there. None of the products have any additives or chemicals and the tastiness shows that.

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to...
Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price.
Views from our balcony were spectacular and the food - both dinner and breakfast - was top notch

The service was one of the best we’ve ever experienced. Everyone was extremely attentive and took the utmost care of us.
The food is another big topic: it was exceptionally good, so I would highly recommend having lunch and dinner, even when it’s not included in the fare.
Lastly, the location and the view were simply stunning. From the hotel itself you can explore the tea plantations without any other tourists (unlike in other tourist hotspots). Moreover, some of the hotel employees may join you on hike and show you some nice trails.

This is an excellent glamping site in Haputhale. The accommodations include comfortable tents and mud houses with mattresses and pillows. There are also shower rooms and washrooms available, along with drinking water. The food provided is delicious and well-prepared.
One of the highlights of this campsite is the nearby viewpoint, offering breathtaking views, especially during the morning sunrise, which is directly visible from the site. It's a truly spectacular sight and one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness.

The views are absolutely spectacular from this hotel throughout. The dining room is situated at the top of the hotel with views reaching out over the hills. The room was large and comfortable, with a lovely balcony equalling the views of the dining room and the shower even has a view (if you want to open the blinds). You also have the option of a western or Sri Lankan breakfast to carter for everyone. This is a great place to explore the Haputale and the surrounding area I only wish we had spent more time here.

It is Nice cozy small Guest house in the Heart of the Haputale town. Close to the Bus stand Railway station. Many local food Joints around. The Host Lakshan & His Mother is amazing. Caring and attentive yet they respect your privacy.
The room is very clean with clean blankets and towels. The room has nice view. Bathroom is very clean and with hot water. I would Highly recommend this place..
All the best to Lakshan , one of the nicest hosts I met.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, our stay at Dream Cliff was absolutely blissful. The hotel is beautiful, the food fantastic and the staff always go above and beyond. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and an absolute gem - if you're looking for a bit of heaven, please stay here!
