This was our favorite stay in our entire two-and-a-half-week road trip through Sri Lanka! Staying at the Diyaluma View Cottage was a breath of fresh air and welcome getaway after a busy few days in Ella. The cabin is positioned perfectly to provide a jungle view of the Lower Diyaluma Falls from the terrace and offers a quiet retreat for a solo traveler, couple, or small family looking to immerse themselves in nature. In the evening, we were treated to beautiful sunset views of the falls and surrounding jungle from the cottage. The host then arranged a cooking class for us at a local village kitchen, so we were able to learn how to prepare traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry with farm-fresh ingredients and natural cooking instruments. In the morning, we were able to hike up to the Upper Diyaluma Falls and enjoy the infinity pools and panoramic views of the jungle all to ourselves before the crowds began to arrive. From the top of the falls, we could even look down and see the cabin! It was quite the surreal, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Upon return from the waterfalls, our hosts treated us to a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace with the view of the Lower Diyaluma Falls and company of the host’s family dog Lucky. This alone was one of the highlights of our trip, as my husband and I felt like we were on our honeymoon all over again! We would highly recommend staying at the Diyaluma View Cottage on your next visit to Sri Lanka!

This was a beautiful property with an amazing staff, The food was fantastic. We only stayed for one night, but wish we had stayed for more. The pool and views were perfect.

Our stay at this tranquil retreat was absolutely delightful! The peaceful atmosphere and comfortable surroundings made for a truly rejuvenating experience. The host was incredibly responsible and friendly, always ensuring that we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the delicious dinner prepared by the host, which added an extra touch of hospitality to our visit. The location, not too far from the waterfall and accessible by foot, allowed us to easily explore the natural beauty of the area. Overall, we loved every moment of our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a serene getaway.

We stayed at Villa la Maas Tota for 2 nights - and I was extremely happy with our experience! Gayashan, chef Sudagaran, Annuruda, Malinth, Salitha, Tharanga, and Kanagaraj, all were absolutely amazing - so friendly and attended to all our requests, they made sure we were comfortable and despite the rainy weather we managed to have some quality family time at the beautiful villa. The villa is tastefully designed and furnished. Watching the sunrise over the mountains was so breathtaking. Pictures don't do justice. The views are spectacular, the road getting up to the villa is a bit challenging but they have their own jeep that can take you right up to the villa. The BBQ dinner was delicious and the food that were served for all meals were healthy and well prepared. There's no wifi at the villa but I think that was the best part - it forced us to enjoy all the amenities and natural surroundings and create beautiful memories with our family! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to escape busy city life. You will feel so refreshed and relaxed after staying at Villa La Maas Tota!

Kasun and his wife are lovely people and we’re very helpful. They were flexible and understanding when I by accident booked for 1 person instead of 2. The room was very clean and we felt comfortable. They gave us tips for our hike to the waterfall (which in hindsight we would have much preferred to do with a guude). Thank you both for the nice stay!
