Everything was amazing, I couldn't recommend the hotel enough. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful, water in the shower was hot, the beds were comfy. 10/10 definitely!

We loved the calm atmosphere and beautiful spaces in the property. Everyone made us feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful. It’s a fab little place to stay if you are near Colombo or heading away from the airport to move further south, as we were.

We absolutely loved the stay here. Best place in Mount Lavinia to have a peaceful stay . Spotless clean , spacious and comfortable . Staff is very helpful , specially the manager Mr. Shane is a wonderful person and he always seemed to go out of his way to help his guests. Just 100 meters away is the gorgeous Mt. Lavinia beach. Best value for money . We would highly recommend this place

    Great place to stay in Colombo area away from city centre but close enough for easy access to city amenities, shops and restaurants. Lovely colonial era building full of charm. The terrace and pool area is unique - right on the ocean. Nothing quite like it in the Colombo area.

    This Colombo (south) hotel is highly recommended for travellers. It is extremely competitively good on price and I often wonder how they make any money with the usual superb and attentive services that come with the competitive price tag! The location is definitely the MOST exotic out of ALL Colombo hotels and also, it virtually has its own train station (well nearly, as it's yards away from the building) adding to the convenience of getting to Colombo North side. The hotel keeps its beach grounds VERY CLEAN...in fact, spotless which again is superb for an older city hotel. This is MUST TRY hotel as its a genuine heritage hotel as well of about 220 years and a lovely historical back story behind the name too!

    Our hotel lodge was disappointing.

    Our hotel lodge was disappointing. We had to comply with what they wanted! We found an amazing guide at the beach who showed us the market, had a meal with his family and took us on a couple of tours. He made our visit here worthwhile. The beach looks lovely but swimming in sea not recommended.

    My stay was quite comfortable, I felt very much at home. The staff were really friendly and super accommodating, especially James. And the host was great at checking in to see if I was okay and if I needed anything. The home is also located near the beach is amazing and close to various amenities which is great. Even With the shared kitchen and dinning area, the home still offered the needed privacy during my stay. I'd come back if I get the chance to visit Sri Lanka again

    The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. There are 2 train stations nearby which is handy if that’s how you’re travelling. You can easily do a day trip into Colombo via the train which leaves fairly regularly from mount Lavinia station. Can walk to the beach across the train track. There is a supermarket and wine shop within a few minutes walking distance.

    This is our favourite place to start or end a Sri Lanka journey. We´ve been here before. It´s close to the beach, short walk to Mount Lavinia, but also close to Colombo city. The rooms a spacious, very good beds, but the badrooms are incredible. We will come back!

    We were returning to this hotel 33yrs after spending our honeymoon here. Sadly beyond the Colonial Facade and greeting from pith helmeted doormen, this hotel has really gone down hill. The food was good and the location is photogenic but it stops there.
