The room is very huge with all the facilities provided like five-star hotel. The staff are super kind and thoughtful. We informed them that we need to leave early morning, they offered to pack our breakfast right-away without being asked! The food is fantastic, pls dont miss it even you are not hungry. The view from the room is amazing. Pricing of the food was surprisedly inexpensive. We ended up tipping the staff 200% of the dinner cost! I don’t like this place, but I absolutely LOVE this place. I wish I could stay longer.

A beautiful area to visit but due to the virus most places were closed. This was most disappointing. Therefore impossible to rate what would have been worthwhile attractions. We would love to visit again.
What a lovely area, the name Little England is not overstating. The New Zealand farm and the tea plantations are exactly what I have imagined with cattle free roam around the evergreen grassy hills. The Gregory lake with the old English style mansion behind is exactly what I have imagined fairytale to be. The climate makes it so that in the day time it's perfect to do any sort of physical activities or just sipping a cup of Sri Lankan coffee or tea and watch the time goes by with the blink of an eye. At night the temperature drops to a comfort zone with blanket dependent person like me to come to my deepest sleep possible. The attractions unfortunately aren't really within walking distance, though there are lots of jungle area you can free walk into, to access the majority of the sites with time as a constraint I would definitely recommend getting a scooter. The Tuk Tuk there is pricy due to the distance in between, and having the driver wait for you adds up additional cost quickly since most of the sites are sparsely populated. It is nevertheless a perfect place to just chill and watch birds fly if you are more of a cool climate person like me. Beaches down south are nice, but Nuwara Eliya is a perfect alternative to relax too!
Nuwara Eliya is very scenic, with many tea estates. When travelling to Nuwara Eliya, take time to stop at view points and to take pictures. We stopped at Tea Bush estate and saw their factory, and tasted four types of teas. There is a waterfall at Ramboda, and we went all the way down from the road level to the waterfall. The lakeside at Lake Gregory is very picturesque, and you can take the motor boat rides in the lake. We found the Lakeside a bit unclean, at the entrance but inside there is a gardened and grassed up area. There is a helicopter scenic rude if you want to see the area from the air. The temperature gets a bit cooler at night, but it was pleasant. We did not have enough time to go to Adams peak, which is much above the town level. The town of Nuwara Eliya was pretty ordinary, but it is worth taking a walk at least once, around the Main Street or New Bazar Road. We thought we would see colonial style architecture, and something from the British era, but were not impressed. The race course is not well maintained.
1 night is enough for this - unless you do more travelling around the area. I did a bike ride around Lake Gregory - which was nice (bikes are available to hire just by the park entrance where you pay to get in). The town itself isn't the most inviting, but there's a very good food Court by the main roundabout right across from Victoria Park (next to the Golf Club) which was great, lots of choice and staff there were very welcoming.
Best place to visit in Sri Lanka. Give you different experience from Humid & hot climate of Colombo and other part of Sri Lanka. Beautiful Mountain, Tea Estate, Water Fall, Lake and full of nature which give a feeling of calm and peace.
A few lovely buildings and a nice park, but otherwise a dull, wet town, heavily congested with traffic. Better to stay at a lower altitude, around - but not in the centre of - Ella, for walking, waterfalls etc.
The most amazing stay at a beautiful hotel. Really cannot rate our stay high enough. The hotel is new and built to a very high standard. We were upgraded as it was our honeymoon with treats left in the room which was such a lovely touch. The real winner in this hotel has to be the staff they genuinely cannot do enough for you and are such lovely gentle and kind people. They also very kindly made ya a packed lunch to take with us. Can not recommend this hotel enough it’s an absolute must stay when in beautiful nuwara eliya.

Very nice place, friendly host, great accommodations! Good location, and very comfortable beds. We really enyojed our stay at this place! There is a beautiful "Moon plain Inn", the owners are really friendly and the prices are very cheap. We also had a awesome dinner and breakfast together, just perfect! I would highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Nuwara Eliya. Probably the best place we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka! THANK YOU SO MUCH! See you next year :-)

First hotel location was so perfect. View from the hotel was just Masha Allah!! The place was very very cold, but hotel staffs provided us extra blankets, hot tea and fire even. They always make sure we want anything else or not. Staffs were so friendly and good. Also, room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely choose this hotel again and again over any other in Nuwara Eliya. And also would suggest everyone to choose this place. Totally worth it!!! ❤️😍

Most modern and well maintained hotel so far in this price category. We had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. It is slightly outside the city center but with driver or tuktuk it is easy to reach. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. And the 2 guys running this place are so kind! We definitely recommend the hotel when visiting Nuwara Eliya and World’s End. They also arranged a driver for our visit to World’s End.
Loved the colonial history and building generally, bar was very good, best Arrack and lime in Sri Lanka. Hotel location in Nuwara Eliya added to the appeal. Room was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly, great service. It was good to return to The Grand after my first visit 40 years ago. I was not disapointed despite a few small issues.
I cannot begin to describe how amazing the hosts were. They are literally the best and nicest people I have ever met in Sri Lanka. They were genuinely nice and tried their level best to satisfy you in every possible way. This is the right hotel to stay in Nuwara Eliya . It has a great location, very clean and the best customer service ever
Located very centrally on the green fringe of the town, a stone’s throw from the historic golf course, the hotel provides comfort, good food and attentive staff in a more “ intimate” environment than several of the other large hotels in town. Fires were lit in the cool evenings!

The location is looking to the lake it was really nice. And the staff was helpful and kind after what happened in the first day... And there is good restaurant beside the hotel it's in front of the lake its name " Indian summer"

The view from the hotel was just amazing! Best view in Nuwara Eliya. The owner was truly friendly, helped us to arrange transport to climb Hortons plain and let us use the accomodation afterwards because we needed to wait for our train.

Gorgeous bungalow with amazing view right in front of Lake Gregory. A bit further from town but we were able to walk back and forth in the cool Nuwara Eliya weather (~40 mins one way).

The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make your stay happy. The breakfast was excellent and very large. They didnt give us a time for breakfast, they asked us to tell them when we wanted it. Also gave us free lifts to town if they were going out anyway. Rooms very nice, big and clean. Only a short walk to town and nice views. For the price very good! Thank you!
