Wow, that was what we both said as soon as we arrived here. It's a beautiful and spacious house with a lovely view of the surrounding natural area with many bats flying around at night, which was amazing to see. We were greeted with welcome drinks and were happy that they arrved dinner until 10pm. We only stayed a night but would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommend!

I had an excellent stay at Serene homestay. Sri and his family were very caring and made sure that I was comfortable and had all I needed. The room is spacious with balcony and attached bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Sri picked me up from the station, helped with sightseeing arrangements, train ticket and patiently answered the many questions I had regarding onward travel within Sri Lanka. Breakfast was awesome – a different spread each day – all of which were delicious! I would definitely stay here if I were to visit Kandy again. Thank you, Sri! (and family…you are awesome too!) Hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

I had a wonderful and safe stay here as a solo traveller. Nimish is AWESOME - yes, all caps is truly necessary! Any questions, queries or needs Nimish solved everything - from getting quality tailor made clothes, to yummy food places, pick ups and drop offs to go to town, and even a trip to Dambulla Caves! Accomodation was clean, comfortable and quiet. PLUS, Amma is a 5-star cook so the food was top quality - so very yummy! Don't hesitate! Book those place! I'll be going back regularly 😊.

Could not have asked for more. Hot private shower, comfortable bed (the best nights sleep in Sri Lanka so far), fast/reliable wifi, and home-cooked Sri Lankan meals. Hideaway is a fitting name. So close to Kandy, yet you feel tucked away from the chaos of the city. So good we turned our 1 night stay into 2.

The property is very well maintained and is located in a beautiful view point. We spend time at the nice balcony with great view and great service. It was really good place to rest. Breakfast was also well served in another side of the building with different side of the view which was refreshing. The staff went out of their way to make sure we are having everything we needed and we did Highly recommend
