The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. This was the only hotel during our trip in Sri Lanka to provide cribs for little ones. I would also like to compliment the shower located under the stars with a net protecting from insects. This hotel is focussed on the safari experience. We booked through the hotel, and were provided with a breakfast and lunch. A really full day. We were able to book our safari through them to Yala. The safari was so good as the driver made sure we got to see Leopards and many other animals. We also got given a lovely takeaway breakfast from the hotel as we had to leave very early. The hotel and room were both Safari/Sri Lankan style with a modern twist.
