The Green Escape is beautiful, it is tucked into a quiet, lush green space with a beautiful welcoming pool. We had a lovely room on the second floor of a two room bungalow and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the birds. I loved all the outdoor spaces - the restaurant was indoor/outdoor and despite the heat, it was always comfortable because of the ceiling fans.

It is definitely a hidden gem in the wild. Either you love it or you hate it. We definitely loved it and had an amazing time. You will also love it IF you are a nature lover, want to relax in a very serene and natural atmosphere, are searching for a different kind of hotel experience off the beaten track and shiny 5 star hotels. Be aware, that you won’t have aircondition in your room, but due to the jungle location, it gets cooler at night than in other locations. The food is very delicious and offers locally sourced products. Our favourite was the green banana curry and the oat meals for breakfast.

Lovely hotel with breathtaking views overlooking the bay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The satff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fruits and variety of srilankan dishes.

    All sea view rooms and the room we stayed in was very spacious . A few minutes walk to jungle beach. The staff was friendly and even made arrangements to get our meals sorted. There is a kitchen and if we bring the raw materials we can even cook on our own , just need to pay them for the space we use. Over all I enjoyed unwatuna because it was conveniently located too.

    Great place to go we stayed three nights I would stay less. Slightly more expensive than Mirrisa and the tourist are mainly Russian. Turtle beach is great. Recommend as best place to see turtles for free .

    Sadly not a lot to do here. Restaurants menus are similar where ever you choose to eat. Shopping is limited. Beach was good and fairly clean. A weekend (2 nights) would've been plenty of time to spend in Ulawatuna. Lots of tuk tuks around but constantly pestered being asked if I needed one. Lots of people selling things on the beach, some are very persistent. Also had people approach begging for money. 1 followed me for 5 minutes and kept trying to grab my arm.

    Unawatana has a splendid beach.

    Unawatana has a splendid beach. There are lots of places to stay and eat. We ate in 2 good places, one on the beach with varied food, mostly fish, very good and one Sri Lankan food which was great A downside is that behind the beach is a bit of a shop/cafe/rooms strip. But you don’t have to go there

    Unawatuna has a long and beautiful white sand beach and a turquoise blue sea. It's a good base for those wishing to visit attractions in southern sri lanka (national parks/tea plantations etc.), but is not very lively in terms of nightlife, and I was surprised to find around 80% of other tourists were Russianr.

    Unawatuna beach is a nice beach behind a reef with turtles swimming and snorkeling. It has a narrow sand strip and at high tide the water comes up to the wall. there were a number of families, local and foreign with young children playing in the shallow part and feeding the turtles. There are a number of restaurants along the beach.

    Angel beach is a charismatic and charming hotel that has the perfect blend of fun and relaxation. We loved the events during the day and on the evening and found the location (right on the beach) to be perfect. The facilities are great; large clean rooms, plenty of storage and in excellent condition. The pool area is a vibe with comfy loungers, day beds and an extensive drinks selection. Food was good, particularly breakfast, but we ate in unawatuna most evenings.

    The hotel is ideally located in Unawatuna making it easy to access Galle -Colombo Main road and the beach. The check-in process was smooth-and the staff was friendly and helpfulI. was able to check in/check out with no issues, and the staff provided me with all the information I needed. My room was clean and particularly enjoyed the sea view .However the dialog tv did not work. Restaurant and their foods were so delicious.

    The hotel is. situated in a green and quite location, just a short walk from Unawatana beach. Staff is very attentive and thoughtful. Breakfast is wonderful, with fresh fruit every morning and a buffet of Sri Lankan and western choices. Even the coffee was good, which is pretty unique in Sri Lanka! Our two rooms were on the edge of the wonderful pool.

Buffet breakfast was really nice and Samantha Sankar and the other guys were very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again if we come to Unawatuna. 10/10 for everything

    Everyone was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was also good (different choices between Sri Lankan & western breakfast). Very comfortable bed as well! The location is great - very close to the beach, but also very quiet. We highly recommend this hotel when staying in Unawatuna.
