Had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are contemporary and clean with very comfortable beds and the view of the beach is perfect where you can watch surfers ride waves. Top breakfast buffet and dinner options were excellent. Place had a great ambience. Highly recommended, thanks for looking after us.

Very clean with strong wifi and good AC! Great location right on the beach. The staff was so kind always available and helping with whatever you need. I was working remote while staying at the hotel and the owner even brought in a table so I could have a makeshift desk to take meetings. Can’t go wrong with staying here! Beautiful view from the roof and good breakfast.

    We were there 4 nights during off season.

    We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

    Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

    Weligama is an absolute gem for travelers! Whether you're chasing waves or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Overall, Weligama is an unforgettable destination that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility—a must-visit for any traveler! 🌴🏄‍♂️🌅

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place.

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place. But (compared to other places in SL) it’s pretty dull. Half the beach is a litter-strewn dump rest is tolerable if you’re surfing. Precious little else to do.

    Everything was beyond my expectations; the staff, the facilities, and the location. The staff Lashitha was the most hospitable, kindest person I met in Sri Lanka. He taught me many things about the country and was eager to help in every possible way. The breakfast was big and high-quality, the room was very spacious and clean. The location is perfect as well. It's close to the beach, a big supermarket and a few local eateries are nearby. I had stayed at another hotel before Mzion, and this hotel changed my experience in Weligama.

    Very unique set up, the accommodation is quite small but it has everything you need including a good bed, nice (warm) shower and a small fridge. The seating area above is cool and spacious. The family owning the property is lovely! Very welcoming and they really make an effort to get you accustomed to local Sri Lankan cuisine, culture and flora. The breakfast is amazing. The property is near the beach and very good located in between Weligama and Ahangama.

    Amazing rooms and restaurant. Close to the beach. Professionally run by dedicated and knowledgeable staff, high standards. Lovely Breakfast and pizzas are great I had "Susanna" 🤤😋 Equipped yourself with earplugs to sleep 😴 well as hotel is located righte by the train line like most on west and south coast of Sri Lanka. If I come back to Weligama I will be choosing you guys again with pleasure. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality 👍

    A fantastic hotel! What you would expect from a Marriott - a large resort, with good facilities and restaurant options. Our room was fabulous, with amazing views of the sea. Stunning bathroom, with lovely bathtub. The pool area was lovely, with plenty of loungers and a delicious breakfast Buffett too. The hotel is right on the beach where you can surf and great food options nearby - Kai beach club was great!

    The hotel is just a few meters from the beach so you directly can access for swimming, surfing and a walk. The room was nice and very clean. But the hospitality, service and food was just outstanding. The owners and their team made it to my best hotel experience in whole Sri Lanka!
