Expensive place, not as good value as other European cities, not as cultural as other European cities. Nice people though. We ate at hotel restaurant and Christophe was very helpful, explained luxumburgouis cuisine and gave recommendations. Food was very good.

Transport system very good and inexpensive to get around, there are a lot of things to do and see in both the old and new city, a bit hilly for older travellers getting around different sites. The food was reasonable we ate mostly Italian they eat a lot of wheat. Meals and drinks are more expensive than in Scotland and the shops are all quite expensive. My daughter attended a couple of beer festivals but said they were small compared with Germany. Day tripped to MERECH great place got a river boat to France on the river Moussel and walked over to Germany for a beer.
I was pleasanly surprised with Luxembourg and really enjoyed it and would recommend visiting the City it is also a great base for France and Germany

The city is divided into 2 parts, but the relaxed atmosphere means it is friendly and easy enough to walk around. Allow yourself longer then you think you will need, because it is a beautiful city with a lot to see.

Luxembourg is a thriving wealthy city.
Luxembourg is a thriving wealthy city. The mixture of old world charm in the old city and the modern vibrant areas with new buildings for the banks and european union community offices sit well together. The City has many outdoor cafes and excellent restaurants. The shops in the city centre have a wonderful display of haute couture clothing, but are very expensive. Also some fine jewelry and watch stores. There are marvellous parks and the public transport system is superb. Taxis are plentiful but very expensive There is plenty of parking places but they can be very full. The airport is modern and efficient, There are direct flights to many other European cities.

I used to live in Luxembourg and like to return a couple of times a year. It is an attractive and prosperous city, with very nice but expensive shops, picturesque districts and lovely parks. The bus and train network is good and also very cheap. There is some disruption at present whilst a tram system is being built. The airport is only ten minutes from the city by taxi (expensive!) or 20 minutes by bus. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with hills, forests and the river Moselle within easy reach.

Charming, handy, cute - Luxembourg is a perfect destination...
Charming, handy, cute - Luxembourg is a perfect destination for families and solo travellers alike, with great views, fascinating history, state of the art museums and infrastructure allowing for a relaxed, yet very diverse and rich experience. The old city, as well as the new EU and financial quarters, Luxembourg's many castles, Roman ruins and cultural events mean you won't be bored. True, don't come here to go just clubbing (although there is no lack of cafes and one of Europe's best piano bars called Café des Artistes), but for anybody interested in history, sport (cycling in particular) and food (Luxembourg's food is usually described as French/European/Fusion, but in German portions!) this will be a wonderful stay. Don't forget to venture out into the countryside, the North and Moselle River (wine wine wine) in particular. Also, Luxembourg is pretty good when it comes to children and access for people with disabilities.
“Friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the city. Good for a short stay (weekend) at Luxembourg. Good breakfast. Close to public transport.”
“The location of this hotel is excellent! Right in the city centre. If you come to visit Luxembourg as a tourist, it's better to stay in the centre. The area near the station is less nice.
Tasty breakfast, room with a nice view to the city centre. The hotel is clean and cosy.”
“Hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a five bed room for our family...that is almost unheard of in Europe...and for 67 Euro a night...wow! The location was 7 km from the center of the city of Luxembourg. Bus transportation was right by the site. We drove into town...so easy. The room, as all Ibis are, was simple but super clean.”
“I think this is one of the undiscovered jewels of Luxembourg hotels. The location is not so far from town or the airport and it goes give you a feeling of being "away from the rush".
The Reception staff was very helpful and moved us without any fuss when we realised that the bed in our room wasn't big enough.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and had very good service from the wait staff. Anne Claire was especially delightful as she clearly enjoyed taking care of the guests. In addition, the food was very good.”
“Really good and quick transport connection to the airport and city centre.
If you are not fussy - you will find everything you need in this little hotel!
Was surprised with how clean it was as well!”

How does it work?
1
It starts with a booking
The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
Followed by a trip
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
And finally, a review
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.
