The location is absolutely amazing, right beside the famous bridge. The decor is marvellous, done in a very high quality 1920s-1930s style, which may not be to everyone's taste but is definitely to mine. Delightful communication with the owner.

The house was spacious. There were several places to rest or sleep. A large family could relax here and feel undisturbed. It is located close to the center but feels like a remote area. The apartments had everything needed for cooking meals. The beds were comfortable and warm. Toys and books for kids were available. We really loved the design and arrangement of the rooms!

We stayed for a night in Kuldiga on our way back to Sweden.
We stayed for a night in Kuldiga on our way back to Sweden. We liked it very much and could have stayed another night without hesitation. It is a very charming old town with extensive old wooden architecture that was very nice to walk around in. It also has a cool waterfall in the river. Not very high but very wide. A warm summer day it is cool to take a shower in the waterfall. Our food was good and there are a lot of nice restaurants in the town.

Kuldiga has its own charm - old, interesting buildings and beautiful views, flowery parks, climbing access to the waterfall. Finding a good and affordable restaurant to eat also was not a problem. We definitely could have stayed longer than 2 days.

A historical, well preserved old city in the middle of Kurzeme. Well worth the new status on UNESCO world heritage list. The waterfall Ventas rumbas is impressive, not for it height, but for its width.

A must-have visit for tourists who come to Latvia and have extra time to get further away from the capital (2h drive). The city is well-renovated while keeping the oldschool charm. Restautants, shops, and nice people.
The nature around if beautiful. Kuldiga has the widest waterfall in Europe (widest, not highest :))

Kuldiga is an attractive ancient town filled with cobble stone streets and wooden buildings. The old town is rather compact and hence easily seen on foot. There are plentiful food outlets and pubs serving reasonably priced food and beer. We ate at Marmalades on Pasta iela (street) several times as it had good home-made food at a reasonable price. 20 to 30+ year olds seem to have a good command of English and were happy to answer questions or give directions. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe by day and felt safe wandering the streets at night - its light until about 11.00pm!

It combined fine dining with relatively tourist free (maybe in August there aren’t many tourists there anymore) town. The old buildings in the centre are almost exclusively protected and only renovated from the inside. Kuldiga is covered with flowers to decorate the old buildings. There are many bridges and obviously the red brick bridge is stunning. I also cannot not mention the widest waterfall in Europe. Crossing it is a must and I certainly did. Mind you, even though the water only reaches your knees at its deepest, the current tries to grab you along and the algae makes the stones slippery. I must admit I accidentally went swimming fully clothed!
Very nice, cosy apartment in Kuldiga center. Everything you need for a great stay - cosy beds, nice interior, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil for cooking. Nice that there were candies - kiddo almost ate them all. Super clean and mini fireplace was a bonus also. Easy check in and check out, great host.
The location of hotel is excellent, very heart of Kuldiga. I don't want to underrate this place in these harsh times. Breakfast was served portioned - not buffet. On the other hand - not much food left on plate and no option to overeat! Staff was very helpful in making scramble without milk products.
My stay at Gothards Hotel was nothing short of perfect! The impeccable service, cozy accommodations, and attention to all details made for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel for a delightful and comfortable stay in Kuldiga! 🙌🏼💫
The hotel is very close to the Kuldiga bus station and only a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square and the Waterfalls. The room was very clean and cozy with all the amenities. The lady at the reception desk was very kind and helpful.
